9 MONTHS OLD:
These last couple months have been a whirlwind, but maybe I said that last time as well ;) Never-ending tornado, for better or for worse. We finally bought a house! Still going through big projects and small projects so that it feels more and more like home every day. And it seems we’re suddenly raising a toddler... Paige is crawling at full speed from room to room, inhaling all the food we give her, crawling upstairs (thankfully there’s a door at the top of the basement stairs), pulling herself up to stand constantly, pulling out book after book from shelves and boxes with enthusiasm, helping garden (pulling dandelions), taking very long naps and sleeping 12 hours a night, and barely giving Beau a break (climbing on him, petting him and trying to steal his toys/bones). She’s LOVES dogs and cats and says da-da when she sees a dog. Our neighborhood has a lot of outdoor cats so she gets to pet the “nice” kitty next door - and trips to the dog park are 30% about playing on the playground and 70% dog spotting :) That’s my girl! Paige is stubborn like her mama and silly like her daddy. She’ll be walking soon... 😳 (Thoughts and prayers 😂) mccright @ Portland, Oregon

To say that this has been a busy month is an understatement. But here we are! 600+ miles past San Francisco and settling into our new home. We will sorely miss our best friends in the city and all of the clients who always made our lives a little more exciting. While it’s oh so cliche, we are very much looking forward to the next chapter. Snooze Dog Walks May return in Portland, but not right away. I’ll still post dog photos - especially of Beau - on this account, but they’ll be mixed with baby

BABY SPAM & So Long. Since I’ve been feeling a hell of a lot better (13 wks postpartum), Paige, Beau and I have been getting out a lot more on weekdays - and Andrew joins us on the weekends. I’d share a current photo of the three of them all passed out next to me on this king bed while I attempt to stay focused long enough to book a moving truck and a hotel for the night of our move, but the dark room makes for an unfortunately dim and unflattering photo. It warms my heart though 😍This month has been good - beach walks, neighborhood walks, actually driving myself again, connecting and planning for our future, and also just being here (though I do feel like I am in limbo). We are sad to go but intensely excited for this next chapter in a beautiful city up north where we hope to grow and thrive just like we have here for the last 11 years. There’s no time like the present to do what you’ve been dreaming of - and so what if it involves a little rain! Please join us with your pups on Sunday, November 4th for donuts and dog treats and to say farewell for now (Marx Meadow, 10:30am-12pm). @ San Francisco, California

Happy national black dog day to my one of a kind, best friend, best boy, love dog, black like the night (with a sprinkling of gray chin fur), still a baby even though there’s a new baby, 9-yr old Beau Dog. Wouldn’t have withstood these years without you! You’re my second black pup and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Happy National Dog Day! Tomorrow is 6 weeks postpartum for me, 6 weeks of life for Paige, and 6 weeks as a big brother for Beau. In this short amount of time he’s taken up counter-surfing and has been experimenting with slyly jumping onto our bed without permission. But otherwise he’s found that almost never being alone has is wonderful and baby-friendly often means dog friendly. And of course outings with friends are keeping him sane. @ San Francisco, California

Took the tourist loop around Alamo Square today - Beau’s favorite dog park! All our friends were busy or indisposed this morning so it was just the four of us reconnecting as a new family. Of course Paige realized she was hungry right when we got to the park (hence the pacifier)... poor timing baby girl!! Meanwhile Beau was on his best behavior and happy as a clam (except when he almost peed on a golden retriever because she was peeing and he couldn’t hump her 😂😳). And, this is the first day I’ve worn jeans postpartum! Feeling more normal.

Paige is 3 weeks old today! Time flies when you’re stuck inside on bedrest and every day is like a cocoon of boredom and healing. One of these days I’ll be a butterfly 😂 Meanwhile, Beau is feeling some neglect since he doesn’t get his daily hike anymore. Any pup friends want to schedule a play date?? Text me!

SO MUCH LOVE \\ Happy birthday to my two favorite people, Andrew and Paige. For now, I’ll forget about the physical challenges of the last week and the sleepless nights in our future - and instead remember that our present is lit with love, truth and awareness. There’s nothing like a good cuddle with your baby girl to get you through the tough times and keep your heart open. Cheers to entering an amazing 40th year! .mccright

WEEK 4 MATERNITY LEAVE:
First babies are usually late (I really didn’t expect to be out of work this long!). Still waiting... Spent most of the week resting, walking and getting out in the city. Beau got another play date with his buddy Jax - and a long overdue bath! We are all trying to be patient 😬 @ San Francisco, California

Yep, she’s still in there! 😫😊
Exhaustion is catching up to me daily, but still able to get in long walks, family/friends time and doggie play dates - key in keeping me and Beau sane.
