Calling all aspiring beekeepers! Applications are ⭐ NOW OPEN ⭐ for our 2024-2026 Beekeeping Apprenticeship Program: https://www.sfbeecause.com/apprenticeship

This one-of-a-kind program offers a unique opportunity to learn beekeeping in a group environment. It has no upfront cost other than buying your own beekeeping protective clothing, tools, and book. The objectives of our beekeeping are always education, honey bee health and ethical stewardship.

Plans appear to be moving forward on the reason we had to vacate the site. Sight-lines for exiting the property were terrible (parked cars). It was very difficult to exit the property safely to avoid northbound cars on SBA (usually speeding) and bicyclists. Hope those issues will be addressed in the interests of the safety of our former Vis Valley and Portola neighbors!

Join us at our Monthly Volunteer Work Parties as we build new bee and pollinator gardens at our new site which is adjacent to the school garden of the June Jordan School for Equity operated by Urban Sprouts. They are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, 12 Noon - 3 PM.
