❤🐾April 3rd's run🐾❤ Friday found me at Bailey and Loca's place.. I hadn't seen my girls in a couple of weeks but here they were and dad was home, so I got to reminisce with him while I treated the ladies, about Rebel and how he got the first surgery ever from POP, back when we had all that publicity and funding (The glory days!🐾✨) Rebel was so loved by both of us, and such a great big brother to Bai.. I'm sure she misses him like we do, except she is blessed with being a dog and living in the moment instead of dwelling on the past human style.. Her new companion is way way younger than dear old Rebs and her being a girl brings a whole other dynamic... Not to mention her youth.. Bailey was accustomed to being the little sister but now she's playing the opposite role.. Loca is a bundle of energy and a pretty good girl outside of claiming and stealing anything that Bai gets, and now Bai knows how Rebel felt when she was doing the same the same thing to him!😁 She always ct
unning up to me ball in mouth and often times, like this one, she won't even drop it to take treats.. So Loca gladly took her share and she didn't even care.. Good for Loca! Shea is too cute, especially her rabbit ears which make me wonder what else is in her mix besides pit.. Big sis Bailey wasn't releasing her ball for anything so I gave Loca one of those cool 3 legged tennis balls that looks like a propeller.. I thought this would get a fetch game started, but no, they just laid down next to the humans and just chewed away at their treasures, which is just as satisfying sometimes.. I left them there happy, which is the name of the game, and with plenty of grub to extend that feeling for a long while, along with some for our friends who use the feeding station I keep here and dad runs for some of the angels I can't always get to.. I went looking for my beloved Millie and Blue at the next little village.. While peeking around the tents and tarp shelters for them I discovered a beautiful little shortstack bully girl named Bella...She was extremely interested in all of my doggy and kitty scents,to the point of ignoring my treats.. Her folks were so grateful to get a couple of grub bags for her and I left her with a new toy hedgehog to celebrate our friendship, and told her I'd see her on.my way back from the far end of the block to deliver to the gorgeous Broc and Shiloh.. I didn't get to see them but sweet T**i came out to see me who's easily as big as both pittie girls combined! She's always excited about the prospect and promise of her next new toy and I didn't disappoint, producing a monkey stuffy that was both squeaky and crinkly at the same time for (whoa!😮)double the audible satisfaction.. She plopped herself down in the sun pretty quickly, as she loves to do in the recent hot weather.. Between her large size and jet black coat (so shiny!) she overheats in an instant and will take to the ground within minutes..Frying in the sun is fine as long as they're not running around so I left her to catch her rays so I could get the rest of our angels taken care of.. Millie and Blue were awake when I rolled back toward their camp, stretching and coming to life at the sight of me.. Millie loves me like she was my own and lights up whenever she sees me.. We really bonded so tightly over the 6 weeks she stayed with me when I got her spayed and we couldn't be closer now... If it came down to it I would keep her forever, although I'm not one to split up a family and her mom needs her for protection..Millie is a natural born mamabear that is very protective of her family, which is so helpful for a woman alone on these streets, which can be very dangerous.. R**e and assault are all too common out here and in a culture where calling the police is a cardinal sin and that will get you exiled and much worse, so a big ole bully growling by your side is definitely a good thing.. At this moment all was safe and sound, though and it was treat time as well.. It's prettymuch all sunshine and rainbows when the doggyfoodman is around, and I'm happy to bring some of my love and light into this world that sometimes isn't that bright.. Bluey couldn't wait to bust into his puppy grub bags and just to helped himself to all of the tasty treats that all of our angels know reside on top of that blessed kibble and can.. He is just the sweetest boy that I have been so blessed with watching grow up and is the son of Winston, who is one of my favorite big boys, which makes him Open Paw royalty.. And he's also the calmest and chilliest bully I've ever known, like a little blue Buddha in a sea of roiling chaos and craziness, so I try to drink in some of his tranquility and take some of it with me.. Millie is not only his mom but also his playmate so of course the toys had to come out and are just downright expected.. I broke out a Kong Cozie dog stuffy in hopes it would be tough enough to survive this mother/son duo's hard tug game... I used it as bait to lure them back into their camp, where I tossed it onto the big bed set up inside and it was on like Donkey Kong.. I couldn't resist stopping to watch them for a minute and bask in the wholesome scene occurring between these ultra cute creatures, so beautiful with their contrasting steel blue/gray and pumpkin fawn coats, so engrossed in the pure toy bliss.. And off I rolled, as I love to do with them thus occupied.l, so there's never any real goodbye.. My final stop was one of my favorites because there's not much better than a big family of pits and bullies, and these are such a bunch of lovers and lookers.. These angels are split into two groups for safety, as they all don't get along all of the time.. The big boys are always front and center, with the baby of the family now hulking over the rest! Chewy's head is easily double the size of his lookalike, the strikingly handsome Midnight.. These steely blue gray boys are always first in the treat line and dominating the whole scene, treat blocking the new girl in the family, Mina, and the other big ole boy Boscoe, who is the polar opposite of the blue boys with his classic yellow rednose good looks.which are so complimentary to them.. Boscoe is too cool for all of their fronting and posturing and will just stay there in his super cool doghouse which is actually a old touring trunk for musical instruments from a band, knowing that I will get his treats to him no matter how hard they try to keep him from getting any of them.. Mina has quickly learned to hold her own and uses her comparatively tiny size to her advantage.. She's a great treat catcher, which you have to be if you're going to be a contender in this dog eat dog treat game, especially with all of these huge males to compete with.. She is such a pretty little thing, all white and lightest fawn with one of those pink speckled pink and gray noses that just make me go gaga.. Panda and the other ladies were waiting for their audience with me, ducked out from the strong sunrays in the shade of whatever they could get under.. For Panda that was a portable commode on legs like old folks use, but he didn't care.. Shade is shade in this heat and potty shame is an only human thing anyway! After treating him, Freckles and Angel to most of my remaining treats I finally got the joy of presenting Panda with the toy I'd been saving for him, an XL stuffed log that comes with several chocolates to reside in it.. My heart's day was made as I reveled in the delight of seeing him surrounded by these adorable creatures and my smile probably rivaled his own extra wide gator grin...And that was that. as we were all overheating, which is fine for me to happen to but not what I want to cause or worsen for these babies.. Thank you so much for your blessed support that keeps us feeding and caring for so many, and please keep it coming by sharing this and all of our posts in hopes of bringing in the enormous amount of food and funds it takes every week, which average $900 for grub alone.. Our Spotfund, Amazon Wishlist and Venmo/Paypal posts are excellent to share, remaining our lifeblood and main sources for the ton of resources it takes to put the dent we do in the tremendous need out there on these mean streets.. Thank you again, much love and God bless us all..🐾❤🙏
