Hi… I’m Percy, a 10-year-old boy.

I’ve been through a big change recently—my person had to move out of the country and couldn’t take me along. I might be a little shy when we first meet, so just give me a few days to warm up—and I promise it’ll be worth it.

In a new space, I like to find a quiet spot to settle in and take things in at my own pace. But once I feel safe, my true personality comes through…

I’m a big, handsome American Shorthair with soft white fur, bright green eyes, a dashing black patch above one eye, and a little black band around my tail. I’m also a senior gentleman, which means I’ve perfected the art of being a loving, easygoing companion.

And my favorite thing in the world? Snuggling.
Truly—there is nowhere I’d rather be than curled up with my person. If you have a lap, I will happily claim it. Quiet time together, cozy evenings, just being close… that’s what makes me happiest.

I get along well with other cats and could do well either as your one and only or with a feline friend.

I’m a big boy and will need to be meal fed a wet food diet to help keep me healthy. I do tend to get a little excited about food, so it’s easiest if I’m fed separately to make sure everyone gets their fair share. I’m looking for someone who can help me stay on a healthy routine—and the rescue will be there to support you along the way.

What I’m really looking for is a calm, loving home that will give me a little time to settle in—and then enjoy all the affection I have to give.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily keep you company and warm your lap, I might just be your guy.

Love,Percy

Hi… I’m Aslan, a 3-year-old boy.

I came all the way from Oman because I didn’t have a chance at a loving home there — no chance at a forever home. I was struggling on the streets — sick, injured, and trying to survive on my own.

Kind rescuers stepped in and changed everything. And now I’m here with Give Me Shelter — safe, cared for, and slowly learning what it means to just… be okay.

I’m blind. The world feels big when you can’t see it. When I’m somewhere new, I might take a couple of days to hide and listen… to learn the space, the sounds, the rhythm of things. I may gently bump into things at first while I map it out. But I’m smart — I figure things out quickly. Give me a little time, and I’ll move around confidently like I’ve always been there.

And once I feel safe?
That’s when you’ll really meet me.
I am incredibly affectionate — one of the most loving cats you’ll ever meet. I’ll climb right into your lap, make biscuits, press my face into you, and purr with a loud, steady motor. I give headbutts, hugs, and kisses… and I’ll happily fall asleep right on you.

I bond deeply with my person. Once I choose you, my loyalty is quiet, strong, and forever.

I also happen to be very food motivated (Churu is my favorite), which makes things like nail trims and meds pretty easy — I’m a very good patient.

I’ve been through a lot, including dental work and having one of my eyes removed, and I handled it all with strength and trust. My remaining eye can sense light, but I rely on my other senses to understand the world.

I love catnip toys, especially kicker toys and little mice I can bat around. I’m still figuring out some of the more advanced toys… but I’m getting there.

I’d be happy as your one and only cat. I just need a patient, gentle home to help me settle in. Give me a soft voice, a steady routine, and a little time… and I will give you everything.

Concerned about me being FIV+? Don’t be—there’s lots of helpful information out there to put your mind at ease. I can live a long, healthy life.

Hi… I’m Elsa, an 8-year-old girl.

I’m a beautiful flame point Siamese (and yes, I’ve heard I’m a bit rare for a girl like me), but more than anything, I’m just a quiet soul looking for my person again.

I originally came from ACT S/N Clinic in Stockton and was adopted as a kitten. I spent years in a home where I bonded deeply with my person — he was my human. When he passed away, my world changed. And when my family could no longer keep me, I found my way back to safety with Give Me Shelter.

It’s been a lot.
I’m in foster now, starting over. I’m shy at first — I like to take my time and figure things out at my own pace. But underneath that, I’m very sweet… and I do love people.

Once I feel safe, I’ll show you.
I’ll purr softly. I’ll make biscuits. I’ll sit close and just bewith you. I used to be a lap cat, and that part of me is still there… just waiting for the right person to bring it back out.

I won’t lie — I’m a bit of a project. I need someone patient, someone who understands that trust takes time. But if you give me that space and kindness, the bond we build will be something really special.

I could be happy as your one and only, or I could do well with other calm, respectful cats. Right now, I’m focusing on feeling safe and building my confidence.

Adopt Deni & Nayeli: www.givemesheltersf.org/mobile/animal.php?id=12380

Hi, we’re Deni and Nayeli — two purrfect complements looking for a home together. We are 11-month-old littermates. Let us introduce ourselves…

I’m Deni, the brother.
If you’re doing something, I want to be part of it. Cooking? I’m there. Working? I’m supervising. Walking across the room? I might weave between your legs just to say hi (you’ve been warned).

I’m super social, affectionate, and love being held. I’ll rub my face on you, purr up a storm, and make sure you never feel alone. I’m also playful and full of energy — toys, playtime, action… I’m all in. Sometimes I get a little carried away and go for your feet, but I just need a quick redirect (I promise I mean well).

Oh, and I’m chatty. Very chatty. I’ll absolutely let you know when it’s time to play.

I also have a little signature look — the tip of my tail looks like I dipped it in white paint (I think it adds to my charm).

When I’m finally ready to recharge, you’ll find me napping up high on my cat tree, dreaming about my next adventure.

And I’m Nayeli, the sister.
I’m a little more on the gentle, thoughtful side. New people and new spaces can make me a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and I’ll show you my soft, loving side.

When I feel safe (especially when I’m sleepy), I turn into a total cuddle bug. I’ll make biscuits, snuggle up close, and even let you rub my belly. I do like my independence too — I’m perfectly happy having some quiet time in between our cuddle sessions.

I love to play — wand toys are my favorite, and I can leap and chase with the best of them. I’m also very motivated by treats (just saying… I can be bribed).

You’ll often find me watching the world outside the window or tucked into a chair under the dining table, keeping an eye on everything.

Together, we balance each other perfectly.
Deni brings the fun and confidence, and I bring the calm and sweetness. We love having each other and would be happiest finding a home where we can stay together.

Adopt Sesame: www.givemesheltersf.org/mobile/animal.php?id=12378

Hi, I’m Sesame, a 1-year-old girl. And one very cold, rainy night in San Francisco… I made a decision.

I sat outside a house and cried and cried. I figured someone inside might hear me. After a while, the door opened and I heard someone call out, “kitty kitty.”
So of course… I ran right in.

My past is a bit of a mystery. I’m such a sweet and affectionate girl that my foster thinks I must have been loved at some point. She waited for someone to come looking for me, but no one ever did. No lost posts, no responses to the “found cat” notices.

So now I’m ready to find the home where I truly belong. Here are a few things you should know about me:
I’m very sweet and start purring almost as soon as you pet me.
I love snuggling next to you—and if you let me, I’ll happily curl up right on your lap.
Blanket snuggles are one of my specialties. If there’s room under the covers, I’m in.
I make an excellent work-from-home assistant. I’ll keep you company all day… although my typing skills still need improvement.
I’m playful too! Balls and toys are fun, but feather wand toys are my absolute favorite.
I love sitting by the window watching birds and keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
I keep myself very tidy and groom my beautiful coat often.
I’m even comfortable around a cat-friendly dog.

Mostly, I just love being near my people. Whether we’re working, relaxing, or watching the world go by outside the window, I’m happiest when I’m with you.

Hi, I’m Lizzy, a 1-year-old black female.

I’m what they call a pawesome house panther—sleek, shiny, and just the right amount of mysterious… until you meet me. Then you’ll quickly realize I’m actually a total lovebug.

I’m extremely friendly and absolutely adore people. If you sit down, there’s a very good chance I’ll be in your lap within seconds. It’s kind of my specialty. I’m a world-class cuddler and take my lap cat duties very seriously.

I’m also super confident and adjusted to my foster home right away like I’d been there forever. New spaces? New people? No problem—I’ve got this.

I have a playful side too! Ball toys are my favorite, and I’ll even bring them to you when I’m ready for a game. Yes, I play and fetch—pretty impressive, right?

I could be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the love, or I could share my home with another cat—I’m flexible like that.

Come meet me—I promise I’ll make it easy to fall in love.

Hi. I’m Redford, a 2-year-old boy.
Yes, those jowls are mine. Impressive, right? I like to think of them as architectural masterpieces… with attitude.

I was rescued from the streets of Daly City, where I lived my life as a true tomcat — independent, street-smart, and absolutely convinced I was in charge of everything (honestly, not much has changed).

Now I’m adjusting to indoor life, which is… fine. I guess. You’ve got walls, furniture, snacks — it has potential. I currently find couches and beds most useful as strategic hiding locations while I evaluate you and your household. I’ll come out when I decide. Not before.

But when I do? Oh, you’ll know.

I want pets. Immediately. Enthusiastically. With commitment. And I will repay you by making biscuits like my life depends on it — we’re talking full-force, deeply emotional kneading. It’s intense. It’s beautiful. It’s a whole experience.

Sometimes I might give you a little hiss — don’t take it personally. It’s not a threat, just my way of saying “hey, I’m still figuring things out.” The rusty little meow that follows? That’s just me being dramatic. I contain multitudes.

Toys are… questionable. I’m a grown man. I don’t just chase things without a reason. I’m learning, though. Slowly. Suspiciously.

Let’s be clear — I’m not a beginner cat. I’m a project. A relationship. A slow burn. I need someone patient who understands that trust takes time… but once you’ve earned it, you’ll get to see my softer side (and yes, it’s worth it).

I’d be happy as your one and only, but I could also do well with the right feline friend who respects my boundaries and appreciates my… strong personality.

Concerned about me being FIV+? Don’t be—there’s lots of helpful information out there to put your mind at ease. I can live a long, healthy life, meow.

👋Hi, I’m Bahni — a 11-month-old sleek little house panther girl with the softest soul. I’ve been described as an absolute gem, and I try to live up to that every day. I’m super friendly, incredibly cuddly, and truly happiest when I’m near my people.

Every morning, I quietly come to greet my foster when they wake up. I don’t pounce or demand breakfast at sunrise — I simply wait patiently and say good morning once their eyes open. It’s our little ritual, and I take it very seriously.

I settle in easily and make myself right at home. I adore affection, cozy cuddle sessions, and being part of whatever you’re doing. I have a calm, loving energy that makes it easy to imagine me fitting seamlessly into your life.

👋Hi, I’m Itati — a 10-month-old sleek little house panther girl with a playful spirit and lots of love to give. I’m super friendly and love meeting new people. Wand toys are my absolute favorite — I’ll leap and twirl like a tiny acrobat. When I’m not showing off my moves, you’ll find me perched on my cat tower watching birds (best show ever) or curled up for a cozy nap.

I started out as more of a country girl, so the big city sounds — dishwashers, fire trucks, all those apartment noises — felt a little overwhelming at first. But I’ve grown so much! I’m becoming more confident every day and adjusting beautifully to my new surroundings.

I’m curious, sweet, and very affectionate. I love being pet and cuddled, and I have the softest, cutest little meow that I use when I’m about to eat or when I’d love to play. It’s my gentle way of saying, “Hi… I’m ready for attention.”

🖤🖤We’ve been through everything together and are the perfect pair — balancing each other beautifully. We love to chase toys, wrestle, and curl up side by side after playtime. Having each other makes us more confident, more playful, and even more loving.

Because of our bond, we’re looking for a forever home together. Double the love, double the fun — and truly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hi, I’m Maya, 3-year-old girl. Since arriving in SF, I’ve been waiting in foster for 229 days as of today😿

I’m a gentle soul with a tender heart—and a story that hasn’t always been kind. I was born on the streets of Bulgaria, where survival isn’t guaranteed, especially for kittens. When I was still very young, I was badly injured—likely in an attack that left me scared, hurt, and unsure if I’d make it. For a time, it wasn’t clear whether I would survive at all. But I did. Through weeks of care, patience, and quiet strength, I held on.

Today, I carry a small scar on my face. It doesn’t hurt anymore—but it tells the story of a world that betrayed me before I had the chance to feel safe.

Because of that, I’m careful with my heart. I’m shy at first, and I need time. But when someone is patient—when they move slowly, speak softly, and show me they’re not going anywhere—I begin to trust. And once I do, something very special happens. I’ll lift my head and look up at you with my soft, beautiful green eyes when you say my name. I’ll lean into your hand for gentle pets. I’ll curl close, soaking up the love I’ve waited so long to feel.

Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m still playful and capable. I eat neatly, chase toys, jump up to high cupboards, and enjoy cozy snuggles once I feel safe. I’d be happiest as a solo cat with a devoted person—or in a calm home with a truly respectful, mellow cat. I’ve been bullied by other cats before, so I need a companion who is gentle, non-dominant, and kind—someone who understands boundaries and allows friendships to grow slowly.

From the streets of Bulgaria to a foster home in San Francisco, my journey has been long and uncertain. But now, for the first time, I have a real chance at something different.

I don’t need perfection.I don’t need saving—just believing in.
I just need my person.Someone willing to be my hero.
Could that be you?

Hi, I’m Gigi. I came all the way from Qatar, and I’m a speedy, curious 2-year-old girl with a big personality and a lot to say.

As of today, I’ve been waiting in foster for 102 days since becoming available for adoption in SF 😿

I love to explore, chase my toy mice like a pro, and proudly show off my scratching post skills. Wand toys are a favorite too, especially when I get to put my hunting instincts to work.

I’m very expressive and great at communicating what I want (and when I’ve had enough). I enjoy cuddles on my terms and always let you know when it’s time for a break — no biting or scratching, just polite, clear signals. I’m also not shy about being vocal when something catches my interest.

I feel most comfortable when you meet me at my level — sitting on the floor instead of standing tall helps me relax and connect. After making the journey from Qatar, I’m settling into my new place and warming up more and more every day.

I eat and drink well, love to explore, and am endlessly curious about the world around me. With a patient, gentle human who appreciates a cat with personality, communication skills, and playful energy, I’ll be a wonderful companion.

Meet Xander, a joyful, affectionate 4-year-old boy who made an incredible journey from the streets of Qatar all the way across the world in search of safety and love. Before discovering cozy blankets, toys, and warm laps, Xander was simply trying to survive—making his journey and gentle spirit all the more meaningful.

Today, Xander is full of energy and curiosity. Playtime is his favorite thing, especially feathers on a wand, but he’s also a one-cat soccer team with small, soft balls. When the zoomies hit, he’ll happily run laps around the apartment and show off his climbing skills.

During bursts of excitement, Xander may give a gentle playful nibble or bat as he zooms by—just his way of expressing enthusiasm and easily redirected with toys.

When it’s time to wind down, Xander melts into pure sweetness. He loves cozy hiding spots and will happily cuddle under a blanket with you, purring nonstop. He’s incredibly affectionate, loves pets, and is almost always making biscuits—even while walking around. His tiny, adorable meow is impossible to resist.

Xander enjoys watching birds from the window and is fascinated by the TV, though loud noises or quick movements can still catch him by surprise at times. With patience and a calm, loving home, his confidence continues to grow every day.

From a big journey that began on the streets of Qatar to a future filled with comfort, play, and companionship, Xander is ready for his next chapter. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who will follow you from room to room and curl up beside you at the end of the day, Xander may be your perfect match.
