CONGRATULATIONS to the two teams who completed their Scent Work Detective (SWD) title at our trial this past weekend - Barbara & Hans, and Dave & Rebel! This awesome achievement is a testament to your teamwork and dedication, and SWCSD is honored to have played a small role in your success.

Thank you to judge Steve DeTata and all of our wonderful volunteers for a fantastic trial at a new venue!

Our last trial for the year will be held on November 23rd back at the Girls Scouts Program Center in Escondido, CA - all levels of Container & Buried, plus two Detective trials. Stay tuned for our 2026 schedule!

We are thrilled to announce SWCSD's first officially licensed AKC Scent Work trial will be held on Sunday, August 24th, 2025!

Join us for all levels of Container and Buried, and TWO trials of Detective at the Girl Scouts Program Center in Escondido, CA. This is a fabulous location where we held a successful two-day workshop with Steve DeTata in February, and we are thrilled to be back for a trial.

Judges include the wonderful Sally Nesbitt, Linda Buchanan, and Cathy Modica. Entries are currently scheduled to open on July 28th and close on August 16th. Premium list with additional information coming soon! Keep an eye on our website & the AKC website.

What a beautiful day for a Match!

Thank you to all the volunteers and participants who spent their holiday morning at SWCSD's first AKC-sanctioned event! We are thrilled to have completed this last step towards AKC licensing, and hope to soon be scheduling more SWCSD trials in 2025!

Special congratulations to our High In Trial Teams: Ozzy handled by Sandy Peace (Novice A), and Piggy handled by Chiara Clemente (Novice B)! 🥳

September Drop-In Practice was another great one! We had Containers and Buried for warm-ups, and then a Detective-level search with a combined interior and exterior.

GREAT job to all members who attended, many of whom pushed themselves and their dogs with these more difficult searches! Good luck to those competing at the local trial this weekend.
