Through the Collective, we’re giving our community access to real-food proteins you can use to build or support your dog’s meals.

Some proteins we’ve previously rotated through:
• Grass-fed beef green tripe
• Turkey gizzard
• Bison lung

We’ve trialed this within our community before, and it’s been a huge hit, so we’re excited to continue expanding it.

Whether you feed fully fresh or simply want to add more fresh foods into the bowl, our goal is to make high-quality ingredients more accessible for dog parents.

Whoever said making dog food was easy… definitely lied 😂

Right now we’re testing 2 different proteins across 4 different recipes:
• Pork heart with seeds
• Pork heart with seed butter
• Turkey gizzard with seeds
• Turkey gizzard with seed butter

Lots of trial and error, testing, cleanup, and apparently repackaging too because I packed these in the wrong bags lol. 🫠

People want to feed better… but it has to be realistic.

And a lot of what we’ve been told about dog food? It comes from standards that were created for a very specific reason, not necessarily the one you think.

Organizations like AAFCO were originally built to create uniform rules, prevent contamination, and make sure food could move safely across states not to define what “optimal” nutrition looks like for your dog.

Their nutrient profiles? They focus on minimum requirements to prevent deficiencies, not what’s actually best or ideal long-term.

So when you hear “complete and balanced”… it’s worth asking what that really means.

Because for most people, feeding better isn’t about perfection, it’s about closing the gap between what you want to feed and what you can realistically do every day.

We asked nearly 200 dog parents what’s actually going into their dog’s bowl, and the results were eye-opening. Most are still feeding kibble, some are adding fresh or raw, and only a small group has fully made the switch.

And honestly, it makes sense. Everyone wants to feed better… it’s just not always realistic to do it consistently in real life.

That’s exactly what we’re working on.

We’re currently testing our first real dog food recipes in the kitchen using our Ancestral Meatballs as the base, building something that bridges the gap between “wanting better” and “actually being able to do it.”

This is just the beginning, and we’re sharing the process as it happens.
