**Mental Health**
I'm really nervous to post this, but I think it's too important not to. This is me in 2018 when first onset of Fibromyalgia symptoms hit VS me now in 2021 -- all with no prescription drugs. For me, it was a personal choice from the beginning not to take meds -- I wanted to heal as naturally as possible, and mentally (even at my lowest), I still knew I could somehow achieve this. Through A LOT of research, trial and error, speaking to others with chronic illness, speaking to doctors, changing my diet, learning to meditate and HEAL MENTALLY and with a TON OF SUPPORT, I'm at a point now where I can function almost daily & I can stay in a positive mindset.
I'm sharing this because I want others to see it's possible. I want to share what I've learned so that others may suffer less, and live a more fulfilling life NOW. I knew one thing, I didn't want to be in this toxic, negative space -- I wanted to HEAL. Not just throw a bandaid on it. Looking back I can share some lessons that have stood out:
- Slow down / take things a day or a task at a time.
- Stop being so hard on yourself. You deserve good things.
- Keep a journal so you can recognize patterns.
- Reach out to your support group! *So important*
- Practice breathwork.
- Practice Gratitude. Being grateful for the things in your life everyday, even small things, changes your mindset to be more positive with all things.
- Try to move everyday, even a little.
- Get outside and soak up Vitamin D.
- Take a hard look at your diet; journal it. Are you consuming what's good for your body? Are you paying attention to how different foods affect you? Your body WILL tell you if you listen hard enough. ***Changing my diet decreased my pain by 80%***.
My takeaway:
Gratitude. Positivity. Diet. -- these simple things, even if they seem silly, can make the biggest impact in your life. You can CHOOSE to be angry/mad/stressed (which directly causes pain), or you can choose to be happy, positive, calm. To achieve this, you must face your old traumas, your old pains and find a way to let them go. Take the lesson from each experience and find the positive from it. Take back your power -
