12 new dogs and puppies are pending euthanasia, plus Miranda and Levi from 5/30. There are 8 puppies, 3 adult pit bull mixes, 1 young malinois, and 2 shepherd mixes all in need of help.

There are many new intakes according to the AVAS sites, and the shelter killed Spider and Blake before close today! So, we have to move fast if we want to save more of these dogs.

THESE DOGS NEED RESCUE COMMITMENT OR ADOPTION BY NOON ON 4/30! 🔥🔥🔥

Yesterday was horrible for all of us networkers. We discovered that 8 of the 10 euth-listed dogs from Friday's list had been killed. 3 adorable husky puppies, a beautiful Rottweiler puppy, and a few others, who were some of our favorites that we were desperate to save. We are 100% holding APPLE VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE KILLINGS AND URGING EVERYONE TO SUPPORT US AS WE ASK THE DIRECTOR, RESCUE COORDINATOR, AND SHELTER SUPERVISOR TO STEP DOWN!! Their actions should they do NOT have the dogs' best interests at heart. The Rescue Coordinator refused to process 11 dogs to exit safely on Friday costing the 8 dogs killed their lives. It was not even 3 pm yet and she did this KNOWING it would cost more innocents their lives.

Additionally, we desperately need more networker help. There is a very small group of networkers getting almost all of these euth-listed dogs out. It cannot be us every time. We need more networkers to jump in and find fosters and reach out to rescues. If rescues are ignoring you, it's because they are already overwhelmed and the best way to get a response is to volunteer for a rescue - collect pledges, foster for that rescue, promote their dogs for adoption, help them revamp their website.... we guarantee you that you will no longer be ignored as a volunteer, but it means you have to put in work. We appreciate each and every networker, far and close by and only ask that everyone dig a little deeper get more dogs out alive🙏

Hi all! I’d like you to meet…

🖤 🤍 Mama 🖤🤍

📍Victorville, California

Mama’s mama passed away recently and her family is no longer able to provide Mama with the kind of home they would love her to have. Can you help Mama by fostering, adopting, or rescuing her?

Mama is a five-year-old mixed breed beauty. She is not spayed and has been vaccinated, although family is unsure of vaccines are up-to-date. She is estimated to weigh around thirty pounds.

Mama is potty trained and knows how to walk on a leash. She is friendly with other dogs, cats, and kids, after she has given an appropriate adjustment period. She loves to cuddle with her humans and to play with toys. She knows how to sit and shake. She is a great watchdog and will alert you when someone is close by.

I know the owner rehoming posts are hard to read, but I would love for us to focus on the dog rather than the people.

4. Adoption Fees-
The adoption fee is $75 for dogs and $35 for cats. The adoption fee includes spaying or neutering, and a checkup by a veterinarian. The fee for dogs also includes placement of a microchip for permanent identification. Dogs that will remain in Apple Valley must also be licensed for a fee of $22 which includes a rabies vaccination and a one-year license.

The Apple Valley Animal Shelter has legal contracts with credited rescue organizations. The purpose for Apple Valley Animal Shelter to partner with these credited rescue partners is to ensure a safe transfer, care, and adoption for the animal. By joining our efforts under the Animal Rescue Organization (ARO) we can continue to provide "A Better Way of Life" for the animals in our care - Four Paws at a Time. Partnering with rescue organizations is with the intent to provide our shelter animals; (1) Alternate housing while awaiting a permanent loving home; (2) Time to heal from injury or illness before adoption and/or; (3) Receive needed behavior modification to make the animal adoptable.
