You might remember last May when the BBS voted to move toward accepting the National MFT Clinical Exam for California licensure.

That was just the first step. Now, we've got another update!

On August 22nd, the BBS took the next big step forward by formally approving the proposed regulatory amendments to adopt the national exam.

What’s next? The rulemaking process will begin to make this official, and CAMFT will continue to advocate at every stage to ensure a smooth, accessible transition for applicants.

This means we’re closer than ever to better license portability and fewer hurdles for California MFTs seeking federal employment! 🙌

The California State Loan Repayment Program is now accepting loan repayment applications for behavioral health professionals who commit to serving in California Health Professional Shortage Areas.

In exchange for a two-year service commitment at an eligible site, you'll get up to $50,000 of your student loans paid off!

This workshop equips clinicians with the knowledge and tools to effectively support undocumented clients and families impacted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) separations and deportation.

Emphasizing culturally responsive, socio-culturally attuned care, the workshop will guide clinicians in developing treatment approaches that center and affirm the lived experiences of individuals and families navigating the threat or reality of deportation. Mental health professionals will gain practical skills and interventions tailored to the unique challenges faced by this community.
