it’s been a busy last few days🪸
•
raising a puppy is exhausting but so much fun. she has brought a much needed spark back to our house and it’s been fun watching her experience things for the first time. I know she’s going to get big so fast so I am fully embracing all of the puppy breath smells and cuddles.
•
some of the things we are focusing on right now are crate training, potty training, name recognition and safe socialization. crate training is definitely a work in progress especially during the day but girly has been doing amazing at night and has not had any accidents in the house *knock on wood*🤣
•
thank you to everyone that has reached out and welcomed this sweet girl into our family. I’m so excited to continue sharing her and know Anchor is here guiding our every step💜

we picked up this sweet, confident girly yesterday and she has already won over our hearts. I’ve always been team boy dog but when your breeder says you need a spunky girl, you listen to her and change your mindset. she has already stolen our hearts and I’m so excited for the future. Reefy girl will be doing some conformation and I’m hopeful she will also enjoy some of the other sports I did with Anchor too including birds, barn hunt and scent work.

now for a little background for her name, I wanted something meaningful and nautical like Anchor. a coral reef is solid at the bottom of an ocean like an Anchor and a sign of new life🪸🐠

a little Brewski appreciation post💛

it’s been really weird trying to think of content or even have the desire to post since Anchor passed away but I’m slowly starting to want to make content again *emphasis on the slowly* I figured the best place to start would be with Brewski. There has been so much change, stress, emotions in our home the last couple months and Brewski has handled everything thrown at him better than expected.
•
Just this weekend we had visiting us and staying in our home and I could not be more proud of him for not having a single reaction and just coexisted in his home like he would any dog that he’s known for a long time. In the back of my mind, I always just think of him as the reactive boy that he once was and he always reminds me just how far he’s come and for that I am SO proud. He may still be a little grouchy sometimes and anxious but he’s very good boy just trying his little best. We love you Brewski boy💛

its been 3 days since I last kissed your big nose, squeezed your jowls, held your paw, pet your ears or looked into those big brown soulful eyes

and while it’s ‘only’ been 3 days it already feels like so much longer

you were a pretty quiet boy but you made our house feel so alive and loud in so many other ways. I keep looking for you in places that you should be

sleeping on my pillow at night
holding my hand every morning to come downstairs
waiting for me by the shower
looking at me from your bed while I prepared breakfast and dinner
hearing your tail thump on the couch as I walk by
sitting at my feet while I work
laying next to me on the couch every night

and while you’re not in those places physically anymore, I keep telling myself that you are spiritually

I miss you and love you so much my Anchy💔

Anchor 7/10/22-1/27/26🖤

there will never be enough words to describe the amount of love that I had and still have for you. you were and will always be my heart dog, my everything - my Anchor in this world.

while you left us way too soon, we are so incredibly lucky to have had 3 years filled with so many adventures, friends, zoomies, cuddles, puddling, dog sports and so much love. you had the purest soul filled with so much joy, love and kindness. to know you, was to love you.

on Monday, Anchor woke up with a limp and swelling around his leg which we later found out was another mast cell tumor. we took him home Monday from the vet and Monday night I slept downstairs with him and he was uncomfortable the entire night and couldn’t really move. Tuesday morning, things seemed to have gotten worse and he denied food which he had never done before. I took him immediately to the vet. an ultrasound was performed and his cancer had spread to internal organs and his system was starting to shut down. with the guidance of our vet team we decided that it was time to say goodbye to our sweet boy💔

I know I’ll have more to say eventually but thank you all for loving him and supporting us through this incredibly difficult time. I cannot say thank you enough to the staff of for caring for us and Anchor throughout this whole journey.

hello, 2026☀️

the new year so far has been incredibly busy and I’m so thankful for all of the time we’ve been able to spend outside with friends. today Anchor will get his first of five CCNU (Lomustine) treatments. CCNU is an oral chemotherapy that will be administered by our oncology team once every three weeks. as with any treatment, there are side effects and we will be doing everything we can to prevent them but one of the most common ones with this drug is liver toxicity. Anchor will be starting Denamarin and some other natural supplements to support his liver and immune system while he’s going through this treatment. I’m still amazed how he has handled everything thrown at him, he truly is such a resilient boy and you’d never know he’s going through anything medically at all. I’m not entirely sure what our plan will be once he finishes his five treatments but I’ll be sure to keep you all posted once I know more🧡 hope your new year is off to an amazing start!

2025 Recap - Dog Sports Edition✨

This year in the dog sports world has honestly been crazy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love looking back and seeing everything that we’ve accomplished but I think what I enjoy the most is the time I get to spend with Anchor during all of these different sports. He is truly always down for whatever, whenever and I love that about him. At 3 years old, he has done so much and has excelled at so much. Most of these accomplishments have been while he was going through chemotherapy which makes these even more special. I’m so looking forward to spending 2026 doing more of our favorite things!🧡
