It's getting warmer by the day, so it is important to be mindful on days you are out and about with your best friend!

Hyperthermia (overheating) comes on quickly and is a medical emergency. The number one cause of hyperthermia in dogs is being left in a car on a hot day (on an 85° day, it only takes TEN minutes for the interior of a car to reach 102°) but it is not the only way a pet can overheat!

Today is World Food Safety Day which is an excellent time to consider your pet’s health and safety this season. Warmer weather typically means more parties and cook-outs which means more room for quick, sneaky pets to get their mouths on something they shouldn't!

The food we eat can cause issues ranging from mild stomach upset to severe health outcomes and possibly death in cats, dogs and other pets. Here are just a few examples of common human foods that can be toxic to dogs and cats. Check with your veterinarian if you have any questions about potentially toxic foods!
