I found this Dr. Dobias Quote: "One hidden benefit of raw/homemade food is its water content. Kibble averages around 10% moisture, which makes dogs drink much more than normal. I am always surprised how much kibble-fed dogs drink. I know that not all of you can feed raw or cooked only, but it is at least important to keep this in mind: Raw meat contains up to 70% water, which is full of electrolytes and proteins that support hydration at the cellular level. Also feeding fresh, moisture-rich meals protects the kidneys from working overtime. Kibble diets leads to a permanent state of dehydration".

I always encourage Obedience training for puppies. It improves socialization by teaching proper conduct around other people and animals. It also enhances safety by teaching reliable commands like "come" and "stay," and strengthens the owner-dog bond through communication and trust. Luna and Loki live in Edinburg, Tx, with the Marroquin family. Luna is proving "It's not the size of the schnauzer in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the schnauzer". I predicted that Luna (Penny Lane) would be a small toy, but at 8 months, she is 4 pounds (teacup). This happens in my bloodlines that stop growing at 6 months. Loki (past Avery/Spur) is a small miniature, who weighs 13 pounds. We look forward to both Moms coming back in heat any day now.

This is TY's favorite treat. Turns out beef liver treats are preferred by dogs over real chicken. Dogs can't resist them! In fact, Karen Becker sells Beef Liver flakes you can shake on top of your dog's food to entice them to eat it. After Ty threw up his Small Batch Pork, I had trouble getting him to eat. I took some of his Beef Liver Treats and shredded them into flakes with my cheese grater. Worked like a charm. These treats are on Susan Thixton's 2025 treat list. They last a very long time. I do cut them with scissors into smaller pieces. You can purchase them on Amazon. I buy the 10oz bag, which is less expensive/oz. Beef liver is a nutritional powerhouse for dogs, packed with essential vitamins and minerals that support various aspects of their health. It's a great source of protein, iron, and vitamins A, B, and D, making it beneficial for vision, red blood cell production, energy, and immune function.

The Classic Puppy Recipe Fromm that we feed is 14% fat. Puppies need higher fat for proper growth and development. If you feed human-grade food, it is almost always lower in fat. You can add some Fromm Classic Puppy to increase the fat level for your puppy. Or check the fat in some of the other protein sources offered. For example, here is the fat content for all the Small Batch Proteins: Turkey: 5.9%, Pork: 7.1%
Chicken 7.9%. Rabbit: 8.2%. Duck: 10.45. Beef: 12.8%. Lamb: 13% Other healthy fats to add to their food would be sardines, eggs, etc.

We rehomed Cali to a wonderful family in San Antonio. Patty takes her for a walk every morning. When they get back to their house, Cali will start trying to drag her/pulling on the leash. Patty finally figured out that she wanted to go around the block AGAIN. LOL! I love dogs!

Welcome to Texas T’s Toy Schnauzers

We are a small family breeder of Teacup, Toy, & Miniature Schnauzers located in San Antonio, Tx. Our family started raising Schnauzers because they are delightful family pets, and we wanted to share the wonderful qualities of this breed with other families. Our Teacups, are defined as 3-6 lbs as an adult and 8-9inches tall at the shoulder. The smaller size makes them very portable, ideal traveling companions, and easy to handle for those who have bad backs or weight restrictions. Our Toy Schnauzers are 7-11 lbs as adults and are 10-11 inches at the shoulder. AKC standards for the Miniature Schnauzers are 12-14 inches at the shoulder and they will weigh approximately 12-20 lbs. A highly social breed, Miniature Schnauzers make a great addition to any family, and make wonderful pets for children. They are highly intelligent, very loyal, easily trained, and relatively free of health problems. On a more practical note, we LOVE the fact that they do not shed. Schnauzers are listed on the AKC's top 10 list (out of 175+ breeds) for intelligence and for being hypoallergenic. They are perfect for family members who have allergies! All of our pups are well socialized and come to you with tails docked, dew claws removed, up-to-date shots, a certified health certificate, and a one year health guarantee. Our dogs are beloved family pets who live in our home, and all of our pups are sold as "Pet Only". Our pricing varies with size, color, and coat/hair quality. In general, miniatures start at $600, Toys start at $800, and our teacups start at $2500.
