This was supposed to yield all mink Merle but recessives had other plans. So this was mink Merle to mink Merle pairing. Parents to both of these rats was pearl Merle and beige. So I was expecting some beige but is this platinum Merle I’m seeing? Is mink based Siamese Merle possible? Also is that a pearl Merle and how 😭? I’m at a loss for words this is NOT what I was expecting at all. Absolutely WHAT is happening here??

I’ve been very busy with a small window of time to post or really do much besides taking care of my rodents! Typing this out on my lunch break at work, because I’m just so incredibly proud of the work I put in coming through. White splash doe with significant color here! I’m VERY happy with this! Hoping this lady ages up well! I also caught my show line red/recessive Merle with one baby down last night! I will be checking when I get home today but depending on if I have a shift tomorrow I won’t get confirmation until Friday/sat. I will also likely be submitting testing for my rodents on the 8th or the following Monday, whichever works out best for me! Some things for anyone new to my lines.

This is NOT Merle and confirmed.
Splash pops through the base colors so what the grey bits are is DOVE. Chin gene is what makes the splash gene represent. Essentially the white tan gene in splash/tri and yes with this, Burmese, and yellow I’ve confirmed tan is a possibility and I do mean tan not fox!

I’ve been so incredibly busy due to starting a very incredible job tomorrow! I’m so lucky to be moving up and I’m so grateful to everyone and thing that made it happen! If everything works out it’s likely that I will be moving out of SA and closer to this job, that is to say SA will always be my home and family are there so I definitely plan on going back frequently (dear SA customers lol)! Anywho! Here below is two splash litters I’m so incredibly happy with these beans have amazing splashing and I’ll DEFINITELY have a hard time picking keepers!

What does this look like to yall? Dark phase pearl? Very pale grey mink? I’m so stumped 😂 marten is in the line but the eyes look black!
