Kitten Season is upon us!

Please remember - if you find kittens alone in the wild, and in no *immediate* danger, leave them be for a few hours; momma cats do momma cat things that sometimes involve stowing the babies in a safe spot and leaving for a bit.

If she's not back by nightfall, then you're probably safe to gather up babies and start thinking about their future. If this happens to you, and you don't know anything about kittens, please by all means bundle them up and bring them to us; we're always happy to teach kitten classes.

Hiya, everyone.

From January 21st, to January 24th, Gold Strike Road will be closed to through traffic coming from the Mokelumne Hill side so that the little bridge over the creek can be fixed up.

However, you all can still get to us from the San Andreas side; the only closure is the little bridge. We'll be open and helping animals during the closure, just please be aware that you'll have to make a detour on those days to get to us.

Hiya, everyone.

This year, in order to let our staff celebrate the holidays with their families, we're going to be closed on Thursday, November 28th, and then again starting on Wednesday December 25th, all the way through to Monday, January 6th.

During these closures, we'll have staff on the property periodically to perform maintenance and feed the animals who live here, and Oswald will of course be happily and enthusiastically patrolling for coyotes and other potentially problematic visitors, but the clinic itself will be closed, and we will not be dispensing medications or providing services of any kind.

This means: if you have an animal that requires periodic refilling of prescription medications - please get those filled prior to the long holiday closure.

During this period, emergency cases should be taken to All Creatures Emergency Veterinary Hospital https://allcreaturesveter.com in Lodi. They may be reached at: (209) 472-7387. Dr. Simko used to work there, and they will absolutely take good care of you.

Dr Simko will be away for continuing education meetings October 28 thru November 1, 2024. The reception desk will be available from 9am to 3pm Monday thru Thursday for medications and appointment scheduling only. Dr Simko will return to clinic November 4 after 9 am. Hiya, everyone!

Dr. Simko has to go away for some schooling, and will be gone from October 25th to November 2nd.

During that time, the front desk will still be manned for the purpose of handing out prescriptions and food, and staff will be taking care of the clinic animals during and after hours.

If you have a prescription for which you anticipate you will need a refill during that time period, please give us a call at (209) 754 5123 and let us know, the earlier the better - we need to get those into our books before Dr. Simko leaves, because once she's gone, we can't write prescriptions until she gets back.
