Simon says: Adopt, Don't Shop. β€οΈπβ€οΈ And why not adopt when your Calaveras County Animal Shelter is chock full of potential best buddies? Here is a case in point, shelter friends. Meet Simon! πβ¨π
This sweet-tempered boy was found straying on Main Street in San Andreas. The poor lil' guy was sooooo scared at first, π«£ flattening himself on the ground whenever anyone approached him, even belly-crawling along the ground when we got him out on leash, too scared to stand up straight. π He seemed to be trying to become extra small and avoid notice. One can't help but notice, however, how adorable he is π€© and want to give him lots of loving attention. So we have done just that, and now Simon feels happier and more secure. We love seeing him slowly shed his anxiety and relax with us. π₯°
Submissive with other dogs, Simon has not once reacted negatively to any of them, even when they got all aggro up in his face. π He just stays friendly, wanting to invite play and give kisses. ππ He's pretty good on the leash, though he'll pull a bit when he gets a whiff of something extra enticing to sniff. He's a smart boy, and we predict he will thrive with leash training and other engaging work. π Queensland Heelers (another name for the Australian Cattle Dog breed) are energetic, intelligent, and bond strongly with their people. An active lifestyle with interesting things to learn would suit Simon well. ππ½ββοΈ
Simon still flattens to the ground if he gets startled; π¬ he's working through his anxiety, getting more confident all the time. He's always up for snuggles and scritches, he loves massages, and he was very good for his bath. π¦ His beautiful, velvety soft coat and his compact size make for pleasant snuggle time. π€
Simon appears to be housetrained. We take him out to potty first thing in the mornings, since he keeps his kennel very clean. Though we can't make promises he will be accident-free as he settles into a new home, we'd guess he will keep up his tidy habits. π€π©π€
Simon is neutered and can go home with you right away. We do not have info on his attitude toward cats π± at this time. A meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home. π€πΆπ€
