Baked cookies for the mice last night, and they all loved it! It was a huge hit. The agouti girl in the tank and Gyutaro (the satin sooty yellow girl) hogged cookies for themselves. 😆

Edit: currently reevaluating some stuff. Things will be up to change

PSA:

We will be listing available mice soon (2 bucks and a bunch of does of varying colors). They will need to be picked up in Sammamish, or we can meet halfway on a case-by-case basis. Most of these does are older and will be placed as pets only.

These mice come in standard, satin, angora, and rex, and their colors are black self, pink eyed cream, blue self, agouti, dove self, seal point Siamese (1), agouti tan xbrindle, and red self.

Pictures of said mice will be taken and uploaded, as well as their names and current age.

Hi all,

Another announcement in the works.

I, the owner of the rodentry, has been in very rough life spot at the moment, plus many other things going on in the rodentry (including a complete reassment of where we will be going forward) and my personal life that lead us to make an even harder decision:

We are officially taking an indefinite hiatus from breeding until further notice.

This means that any and all mice that aren't already reserved are openly available. For the ASFs, we are culling them down further and only keeping one colony that is going to Ark Animalium. For the (available) mice, we would like to entrust our show type x pet type cross line to a trusted breeder or breeder friend(s), and others will either go to pet homes or pet/feeder breeds. We still require anyone wanting to adopt mice from us to fill out our Adoption Application.

This is not something we like doing, but we have to take ourselves and our animals into account, and we want the best for them.

Send us a PM for more info.

Have our PE cream show type x pet type buck for tax. His name is Shinomiya.

We will be updating our list of available mice. Keep an eye out for updates!

The Promare Litter (Ignis x Kurotora) is 20 days old!

(Yes, we chose to take their photos in our bathroom, because the white light shows the xbrindles' stripes best.)

Everyone is looking stunning, especially Lio (dove tan xbrindle) and Galo (fawn xbrindle). Lio is growing to be bigger than her sister, and Galo's stripes are also stunning!

These are currently our most angelic hoppers yet. They aren't even very squirrely.

This is extremely important to us breeders! No matter how pretty, typey, evenly marked, great coat quality a mouse (or how pretty an ASF) is, if its temperament is poor, which includes aggression, we will do the right thing and humanely cull it. This is integral to breeding rodents and livestock (hard culling for health/temperament issues), and we dont like doing this, especially to the animals we bred ourselves and love dearly, but their (and our) quality of life comes before any attachment we have for them.

As much as we give new life, we also have to be able to take it away when the situation calls for it.

We currently have 3 older retired does available!

•2 blue self satin angora does (Gin & Steelsilver)

•1 agouti show type doe (Aki)

PM for more info. Plus, if you are on my waitlist (filled application and approved) and interested in them, then you also have first priority, if you so choose.

Retired mice will only be placed in pet only homes.

Hi all,

We are implementing a new policy for our rodentry:

Any mice that will be evaluated as breeding prospects on our end will stay with us for two months (8-12 weeks). This is to make sure an incident surrounding a mouse we deemed breeding quality in the past, who was sweet when he was younger (4 weeks old), but bit me when he was older (12.4 weeks old, with a nip a few days ago or so that I was seeing if he'd repeat it - he did, but harder), have less chance of happening. Good thing we caught it in time, but while the odds won't always be on our side, we want to help reduce it.

Folks who reserve and bought mice from us or before this policy is enacted are exempt from it, because they did reserve and buy mice from us. But from here on out, new buyers will be held to this policy, including pet prospects. While there are more leeway with pet prospects, we are still a bit cautious.

We don't want to jump the gun and sell a breeding prospect that's skittish or bites, because even if the parents are good temperamentally, at times there will be an unlucky draw in genetics. Temperament isnt a simple dominant and recessive. We're also going to do a rough temperament evaluation on all of our mice that will be deemed breeding prospects at 4 weeks old, and later at 2 months old. Pet prospects can still be homed at 5-6 weeks of age, but we do request that any bites should be informed to us as soon as possible, so we can help you replace the biter.

Have Zekrom's litter (first pic, Phantom of the Opera Litter) and Ash's litter (second pic, Vegetables Litter) for tax!

Our old man, Hibiki! He's 10 months old. 🥺

He's one of the OGs and one of the main founder mice here at Ignem Facere Rodentry. We're still thankful for The Spangled Mouse for entrusting us with him! He's the best mouse for a lot of the breedings we carried out that we could ever ask for, and he was one of the main players in our current show type x pet type cross line in the works!

Cheers, Hibiki! 🐭🍻
