Look at these sweet little babies!!! 🤩

We have baby bunny fever so bad 😭 and are counting down to later this winter when we’ll have some again.

Until then and while our mama buns rest, check out Jessica’s bunnies with Steele Half Acre Homestead!

We love her and her buns so much, THREE of ours are from her rabbitry (including two that will be new mamas for us this spring)! 🐰🌷

We’ve had a lot of messages recently asking if we have babies! Like… more messages than ever. 😅 Bad timing for our momma bunnies (& us!) to be taking a break. 😂

But our friend Malina has some cuties if you just can’t wait!!

We anticipate having babies arrive late winter, so if you’d like to pick yours out when they’re itty bitty & watch them grow, shoot us a DM and we’ll add your name to be notified when they’re expected!
We have several new mommas and expect many new color patterns to choose from! 😍

Let’s hear from you - - in honor of our most recent litter all going to their new homes, if you got a bunny from us, pop in the comments!
We’d LOVE to see a picture and hear your bunny’s name!

Let’s see our one big happy Three Rees family! 😍

This is our bunny who started it all, Sweet Pea, the day we brought her home! 🥰

Look at these cuties!! 🥰

The baby bunny this sweet family picked out was the first we named, the first to run to the door any time we came to the cage, and the first of the litter to be reserved. A special one no doubt.

With coloring reminiscent of the skunk from Bambi, we gave this baby the name “Flower.” 🦨 We had a good laugh at our gender check because Flower was of course a boy. 🤪💙 Mr. Flower stole our hearts with his friendly and cuddly nature, his sweet disposition, and marbled blue eyes, and now he gets to be the object of affection for these three sweeties who have given him the name “Rainey.”

He’s the last of our babies to go to his new home and we’re gonna be over here having some serious baby bunny withdrawal until our next litter.

Bunnies are joy, y’all!
Thanks for sharing the joy with us!

This is “Rosie,” (Sugar Rose), one of our newest girls and future rabbitry mamas. If there was ever a bunny that was actually a teddy bear it would be Rosie. She is a third generation baby from Three Rees Rabbitry, which means her lineage represents all four of our original breeding bunnies and is a granddaughter to them all. (Sweet Pea + Thunder = her sire, Mama B + Harrison P. Bear = her dam.)

I love that the representation of our rabbits is not only stunning but sweet as can be. That says something. 🥹

I have claimed her as mine! (Even though I know… I own them all.) 🤪

She’ll be one of our first to breed later this fall when she’s old enough, so be on the lookout for her babies this winter! Eeeeeee!!

This weekend, Sweet Pea and Finn’s babies were 8 weeks old… going home age. But we had a problem. Only one out of four had a family to go home to. We’ve never had this happen before. Typically the majority of our babies are reserved as soon as reservations open. Not this time.

I don’t know if it’s just the time of year or because solid black animals are harder to photograph and are slower to find homes. It definitely wasn’t for lack of sweetness or good genetics because these babies have it all! 🖤

Saturday morning I was stressing.
And to be honest, I have been for weeks.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I never want to breed animals that won’t find a quality home.
But then the miracle of Sunday happened.
And our inbox blew up.
More inquiries than bunnies available.
And by Monday morning, every single baby had been adopted to really great families!

What a reminder if you’re in the dumps about something - - a lot can change in a few days! 🙏🏼
Keep persevering!

Charley and I are going to take the next few months to focus on improving the behind-the-scenes aspects of our rabbitry. Which means no babies until this winter! (If we can stand it.) 🤪

We have four new young does bringing new blood lines and colors to our herd and we’re sooo excited for them to breed for the first time this winter!
It’s going to be a Three Rees level up and we can’t wait.

In the mean time, if you need a baby bunny and can’t wait a few months, check out some of our local(ish) friends:

If you’re a nearby rabbitry I didn’t mention, please leave a comment so our friends can find you! 🤍

Thank you all for being here for all the highs and all the lows. One of the best parts of what we do is meeting and getting to know your sweet families!

To our Three Rees Family - -
We would like to take a minute to update you on some heartbreaking news.

As many as you know, our rabbitry is named after the three Rees in our family - 9 year old Charlotte (Charley) Anna Ree, mom Elizabeth Ree, and Granny Ree.

Three Rees in a Pod. 🤍🤍🤍

We are heartbroken to share that Granny Ree has passed away.

Death is a difficult concept to wrestle with, especially when it involves someone so full of life, so full of love, and someone who has been there for you every day of your life.

While we are so grieved and prepare to lay her to rest this weekend, we fix our eyes on what is eternal. We’re so grateful that she not only had 91 beautiful years on earth, but because she was a believer, now gets to spend eternity with Jesus.

Her earthly presence may have left us, but the love she poured into us, the life-giving words she spoke, and her beautiful name - Ree - will live on.

Thank you for supporting and being a part of the Three Rees Family and honoring our beloved Granny.

This is why we keep our rabbitry small. Why we handle our babies from birth and as often as possible. Why we treat them as a beloved part of our family and not just a working piece of a business.
…because once they’re in your hands, they continue giving back the love that’s been poured into them from day 1. 🤍

Thank you to this wonderful family for sharing the love and this sweet story!
