Hey everyone!! I wanted to answer a few âfrequently asked questionsâ regarding dog training, to hopefully give everyone some insight to the process.
Q1) âMy dog has a problem with (insert problem). Can this be fixed?â
A1) In 99.9% of cases, YES!! Generally speaking, all problems can be fixed with some basic rule-setting, and a bit of knowledge on how to apply those rules in a way that your dog understands quickly.
Q2) âHow many lessons are needed?â
A2) For the vast majority of dogs we can get ahead of most problems with 2 lessons; an indoor lesson, and an outdoor lesson. Further lessons are always available, but the âmeat and potatoesâ of fixing problems can usually be settled with 2 lessons.
Q3) âWhat age can my puppy get started - Is my dog too old to learn?â
A3) For puppies I suggest starting training about a week after getting them into their new home. Most people would be surprised at how much a puppy can learn. For older dogs, they can learn all the way until their senior years, but I tend to avoid much training on dogs older than 12 years.
Q4) âHow much?â
A4) The question everyone was waiting for đ⌠Consultations are completely free, and Iâve reduced lesson costs to $175/lesson, to try to make dog training attainable to everyone. This is my âshelter dog pricingâ, but I have extended this to everyone.
Q5) âWhere are you located?â
A5) I travel all over the greater Salt Lake valley, from north Ogden, to Tooele, Orem, Park City, and everywhere in between. All of our lessons are in your home. So, no having to pack the dogs, kids, spouses, etc, as I come to you.
Dog training doesnât have to be expensive to be effective. It also doesnât need to consume all of your free time. Just a few simple tools and techniques can give you a totally different dog.
Advice and conversations are always free. Iâve trained thousands of dogs, and thereâs nothing I havenât seen. So, if youâre feeling frustrated, stuck, or maybe regret bringing a dog into your home, please send me a message so we can turn your dog into a perfect housemate and family member.
