Due to Executive Order 7III from Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont barring out-of-state residents from 31 states unless they first self-quarantine for 14 days upon entry, I have canceled my obligation as lure operator and show secretary for Housatonic Cairn Terrier Club at Showcase For Dogs in East Windsor, CT on September 18-19-20, 2020. The club and facility will look for a substitute lure operator and show secretary immediately (in-state preferred) and hope to keep the events going. Thank you for understanding, I have done events there in 2018 and 2019, hoping to return in 2021!

My #1 pet peeve as dog show trial secretary....

You entered your dog with email address using Gmail personal account... and you send your scanned entry forms from your work/school account, or even worse someone sends them for you.

I really hate this. I have to search and dig for this. It's a huge waste of time for me. Please use the same email for all correspondence.

AKC Fast CAT practice this SUNDAY August 11, 2019 from 8:00AM until noon at Taneytown Memorial Park in Taneytown, Maryland. $5 per dog per run, please bring small bills. We will run on the same area for September 13-14-15, 2019 trials with Carroll Kennel Club (Friday), German Shepherd Dog Club of Washington DC (Saturday), and Potomac Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club (Sunday). Online and paper entries are still available for this weekend. Good practice for your dogs to get familiar, and owners to stake out parking for September events. Temperature forecast high of 80 degrees at noon, so we shouldn’t have heat issues.

US Postal Service released first-class forever stamp of a mural called "Sugarloaf Mountain" but notice how our logo is shaped just like the mountain depicted in the painting. The painting is currently on display at the Rockville, Maryland police station that used to be the post office.

National Beagle Club of America will have AKC All-Breed Fast CAT events at their National Specialty at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia on October 3-4, 2017. That's mid-week Tuesday and Wednesday, so this will not work for some people who can't take time off from work. We have been hired to be the equipment provider and lure operator for all 4 events.

This is their specialty, so beagles will have preferred entry status. If you don't have a beagle, we highly recommend you send in entries ASAP when premium is released. There will be 2 trials each day, $25.00 per run per dog, limit of 60 dogs each trial. I'll pass along the show premium when it's available, very soon.

Carroll Kennel Club will have Fast CAT practice runs this Sunday July 16th at Good Feelings Farm (125 Kate Wagner Road, Westminster, Maryland) from 8:00am until we're out of dogs that want to run, or about noon. Limited fencing, only some fencing at the finish line to funnel the dogs through the timing gates. $5 cash per dog per run, please bring $5 bills. If your dog has issues we'll work with you and your dog. This will be the venue where the September Fast CAT trials will be held, but with full snow fencing to keep dogs lined up straight for best run times. According to weather forecast it shouldn't be above 80 degrees until noon. If you are coming please bring shade and plenty of water.
