Lost Creek Goldens is pleased to announce that Lincoln will be receiving a puppy to provide unconditional love and joy and to help him with his needs!!
This was a very challenging decision. There were many nominations submitted, each with their own unique circumstances and varying needs. We spent many hours sifting through the messages, making sure we didn’t miss anyone, and it seemed when we would get close to the last message, more would come in. And even still, after we completed the selection we are still receiving more nominations! There were many stories of grief, difficulty, and challenges that bring tears to your eyes and makes us wish we had enough puppies to give everyone a puppy and wish we could do even more.
We know that Lincoln and his family will take great care of their new puppy, and their puppy will take great care of Lincoln, and are excited to watch this new love and bond grow!
We will definitely being doing this again in the future and hope those that were not selected this time are not discouraged.
We appreciate the support of our family, friends, and our new family/friends (Lost Creek Goldens Family), and any that share and spread the word.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This is Lincoln and his story from his family:
Lincoln is 11 years old (turning 12 the day after Christmas), he has a very rare chromosomal duplication called 1q42-44 duplication x3, when Lincoln was a baby he started having myoclonic seizures (like a brain reset that looked like a startle) up to 90 times per minute making it very difficult for Lincoln to progress, we were able to get him on medication as soon as he was diagnosed as having seizures, but we still didn't know why he was having the seizures or what else was going on with our beautiful little boy, with all of our questions and concerns we were lead to a geneticist who recommended we have him tested, which is when we found out his diagnosis (a mouth full of letters and numbers) he was only the 33 diagnosed case with this exact duplication, but we have learned a lot since then.. Lincoln eventually grew out of the seizures, but still wasn't reaching his mile stones, he choked on most foods other than blended foods like baby food and thickened milk, Lincoln attended all types of therapy in his early development, but was still unable to walk up until age 4 when we were able to get him treated by a neurological chiropractor and between his therapy there and his physical therapy accompanied by much prayer and support from family he was able to overcome and grow. Lincoln is now doing very well, but still faces many challenges and has unique needs and a unique brain, he is loved dearly by everyone who truly knows him and makes everyone laugh daily with his outstanding sense of humor, Lincoln loves animals of all kind and bonds with them on a deeper level than most. He has always wanted a dog of his own and we have told him that one day we would help him get not only a dog, but a companion and best friend, we weren't sure how to accomplish this, but now thanks to yet another miracle in the story of Lincoln and the kind charity of the people at Lost Creek Goldens Lincoln's dream is becoming a reality! We are so excited and thankful for this opportunity!
