Is Salida closing? Nope! While our Buena Vista shop is getting ready for its big move to a new facility in June, our Salida location isn’t going anywhere. We are still right here and ready for all your grooming and training needs.

Moving day is finally on the horizon! We’ve loved our time in this space, but Gone To The Dogs in Buena Vista is officially packing up and heading to a brand-new home on May 22nd. Expect the store to be closed that day and potentially the next.
This new facility gives us exactly what we need to keep focusing on what matters most: your dogs’ well-being. We can’t wait to welcome you and your pups through the new doors.

You’re invited to one of the most fun and meaningful events of the year: our dog-friendly Tails on the Trail 5K Run/Walk for Animals, supporting the lifesaving work of Ark-Valley Humane Society.

Event Details:
Sunday, May 31st, 2026

- Race check-in and day-of registration: 9:00–9:45 AM (located at the Denver & Rio Grande caboose near F Street Parking Lot)
- Race start: 10:00 AM (out-and-back course winding through the scenic Tenderfoot Trails on S Mountain with a gentle incline)
- After Party: 10:30–12:30 PM at the Salida SteamPlant (dogs welcome on the Outdoor Plaza)

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, plus a special award for the first-place dog finisher.

We have some huge news to share: we are officially moving to a new home in Buena Vista! We’ve loved our current space, but we are so ready to grow into a location that lets us serve you (and your pups) even better.
