Our family and showman had an incredible day Saturday at the Ohio State Fair. We had six sheep make final drive and several others with Fowler tags with top end finishes in class and showmanship!

Big thank you to Brett and Blake Martin, Shelby Bays, Brynn Shearer, Eric Taylor, Cayden and Cameron McCoy for all the help getting sheep shown and presented for us.

Special shout out to Ephraim, Emma Hinson and Eve Roehm for all finishing in the top 5 of their showmanship classes! Thank you for driving one of our Southdowns!

As always, big thank you to the pit crew behind the scenes back at the pens getting these sheep cleaned up and dialed to hit the ring!

Congratulations to Emma Hinson and Bella House on a successful 2025 Ohio State Fair Southdown Show! Both these ewe lambs sold this spring through our click to claim futurity sale.

Fowler Southdowns bred 4 of the top 8 in the January ewe lamb class in both the open and junior shows and captured 3 of the 4 final drive spots! (One of the biggest classes of the day with 22+ entries) All 4 were sired by Fowler 2422, sold to Mclayn Musick at the National Sale in May!

Both girls also stood in the top end of showmanship with Emma finishing 2nd in the 11 year old class!

As the calendar flips to May tomorrow, the National Southdown Sale in Greenville will be here before we know it. We wanted to start previewing our entries over the next week.

Starting with one we think an awful lot of, that wasn’t on my radar as a possibility to sell until a couple weeks ago. We used him heavy at our place last summer and fall as a buck lamb, breeding over 2/3 of our flock. His lambs have been everything we could’ve asked for, with multiple popular ewe lambs in our click to claim futurity sale and multiple in Ephraims 2025 show string!

We kept a son and a maternal brother this year and have semen collected for our personal use, but for the National Sale we wanted to showcase the best of our program! He is a proven, with plenty of gas left in the tank backed by genetics from some of the best in the industry!

2408 was a class winner at The Classic last summer and Supreme Champion Ram at mutiple jackpots in Ohio and surrounding states. He is sired by Ocean Eyes and dammed by our Bowers 2123 donor. She was a 2x National Futurity Winner, OSF Champion Ewe, NAILE and All-American class winner and Ewe of the year top nominee.
