Financial assistance is available on a case-by-case basis!

Already have your cats fixed but still want to help? Consider driving with a Pet Friendly License Plate! 🚗🐾 The funds from this plate make low-cost spay/neuter accessible to those who need it most, helping us tackle pet overpopulation at its source.

🐶 Waffle - 8 mo old LGD mix. She is friendly with everyone she meets and playful with other dogs …and a little clumsy 🤭. She would love another dog friend to play with.

😸 T-bone - He may look like he has an ear tip but it’s all there - just folded over giving him an adorable and unique look 😻. T is friendly and likes other cats.

⏰ The order form (Step 4) for the $50 spay/neuter vouchers will open at 8:30 am Monday morning. The vouchers usually sell out in 10-15 min. If you aren’t able to get one, try again next Monday. This is for dogs and cats.

TRUTH: There are no pet surrender fees here at the Salem Animal Shelter. We do ask that you call ahead to let us know what you need to surrender so we can be ready. 🤝

The screenshot below was used on a community page to spread misinformation. The surrender fees quoted are for the White River Humane Society in Lawrence County (there’s even a hint at the bottom of the photo that was used).

🐶 Teddy - 1 year old, 35lb Australian Shepherd mix. Teddy is always happy to meet people and is playful with other dogs. He’s kid friendly too!

😸 Spock - 13 yr old female. She is a 4 paw declaw which means she needs to be an inside only kitty. She doesn’t mind other cats, has lived with dogs, and adores nice children. We would love to see this senior back in a home environment very soon.

🐶 Jack - 3 yr old, 30lb terrier mix. He’s learning what it’s like to live inside for the first time in his life. Everything is new to him but he’s adjusting well. Jack is bashful meeting new dogs but warms up nicely with a slow intro.

😸 Shellie - is a 4 yr old black beauty. She is shy but accepts pets & scratches with no hissing or swatting. She will spring right up for some Temptations treats!

Simon is still missing and his owner is now offering a reward for his return.

4/4 - still missing. His owner is offering a $300 reward for his return.

Simon escaped his carrier in the parking lot at Salem Vet Service Friday afternoon. He crossed Jackson St and was last seen on High Street. He could be hiding anywhere in the area. 👀Please report sightings to 883-3673. He is very scared. We have traps and nets to contain him but we need sightings. Thank you.

🐶 Abby - 8 mo old shepherd mix. She currently weighs 40lb and still has some growing to do. She’s VERY friendly and playful with other dogs. Some dogs don’t appreciate her youthful energy 😅. NO CATS for Abby.

😸 Valley - This 9 mo old is not your typical “valley girl.” She was born homeless, never had basic vet care, and has a southern drawl. She likes the service at the shelter but we’ve told her the best is yet to come!
