Meet Toby 💛

Toby is a sweet 8-year-old Coton de Tulear who will be celebrating his 9th birthday on March 4th — and our biggest wish is to help him find his forever home before his special day. While his fluffy appearance makes him look irresistibly cuddly, Toby prefers that trust be built first before being reached for — respecting his pace helps him feel secure and confident.

Toby spent most of his life with the same person, so coming into the shelter has been a big transition for him. Like many dogs adjusting to change, he appreciates patience, gentle introductions, and humans who will allow him the time he needs to feel safe and comfortable. Once he builds trust, Toby shows just how special he is.

True to his breed, Toby enjoys routine and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He has a soft spot for cozy blankets, plush beds, and relaxing close to his favorite people.

Toby has spent many cozy days with shelter staff, happily settling beside them and soaking up quiet companionship. He’s also happy to show off his adorable twirling skills when treats are involved — a guaranteed way to make you smile!

Toby will let you know when he needs to go out for potty breaks and enjoys having a consistent routine. He would do best in a patient, understanding adult only home where he can continue to build confidence and feel safe.

Meet Petu,
an 8-year-old Mixed Breed, weighing 14 pounds!

He was recently surrendered when his primary owner sadly passed away. While Petu will miss and always love his previous home, he hopes to find the next home where he can continue to be the perfect companion.

Petu is a true sweetheart and loves to spend time with his humans. Whether it's yelling at the TV when your home team loses the game, celebrating Thanksgiving with the new in-laws, or selling Girl Scout cookies outside a grocery store, Petu wants to be a part of life's precious moments. His favorite activities include going on walks around the neighborhood, chasing balls and playing with his toys.

While he can be a little timid around men at first, but he does warm up to them eventually. It helps if you bribe him with treats (which he LOVES)! Petu is also very alert when it comes to strangers and is more than ready to bark if a group of kids are about to egg your house! Not on his watch! He also "sits," "leaves it," and comes when you call him.

In 2021, Petu had a grade 1 heart murmur, which is now a grade 2-3 in recent visits. It was recommended that he have an echo, and he is also blind due to bilateral cataracts. According to his previous owner, Petu can still see and didn't walk into objects around his home, but he'll need patience as he adjusts to the unfamiliar surroundings of your home.

Petu is pee-pad trained and would thrive in a home with an older person or couple who enjoy peace and quiet as he's a very gentle and sweet soul. Sound good to you? Adopt Petu today!

For all of you that are asking why we have not opened yet, this should answer! I can hardly wait to hear your comments! My neighbors in Stoneham cannot compare to the classless neighbors in Salem! Actually that is not really a fair comment. I have wonderful neighbors here except for two. One in particular who is a total ignorant joke.

Happy Fall!
We are at the end of this big move! The saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is so true in this case!

But with that said, we are so excited about the new salon and can’t wait to show you all!

As of right now and as long as everything goes as planned, our re-open date is November 8, 2025.

For all those that are following us to Salem NH, you should have gotten a text or email asking what your best days and times are to book for your appointment. If you did not get this PLEASE text me ASAP! Due to having to close for a month +, we are really backed up and scheduling for the next month or so is going to be very challenging! I cannot begin to tell you how we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding through all of this!

To say I am so touched and beyond overwhelmed by the response of all my customers that are willing to follow me is an understatement! Specially being a neighborhood groomer and the convenience it was for most to just walk your dog down the street, to now be willing to travel 30 minutes makes me appreciate each and every one of you beyond words!

For those of you who are not into shopping, I am going to have a waiting room set up. If you work remote, I will have WiFi available with an area for you to work. We will also have TV and a coffee bar set up.

As we get closer to opening, I will be sending everyone an update along with the new address.

Again, THANK YOU! And Thank you to those that are unable to follow! We will miss you all so much but please remember, we will always be available to you if ever you need! We would love for you to just come by and say hi if you are ever around our area! ❤️❤️

"It turns out that pets also have last wills before they die, but only known to vets who put old and sick animals to sleep." Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what the hardest part of his job was.
The specialist replied without hesitation that the hardest thing for him was seeing how old or sick animals look for their owners before they fall asleep. The fact is 90% of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so they don't see their animals leave. But they don't realize it's in these last moments of life that their animal needs them the most.
Vets are asking owners to stay close to animals until the end. "It is inevitable that they die before you. Remember that you were the center of their lives. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. Even if it's hard, don't give up on them.
Don't let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they don't like. It's very painful for vets to see how pets can't find their owner in the last minutes of their lives. They don't understand why their master left them. After all, they needed the consolation of their master.
Veterinarians do their best to make animals not so scared, but they are totally strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the animal. Endure that pain for them. Be with them until the end.
