Tips for the next few days regarding helping your pet get through this holiday and the fireworks! *Use Sound Training to Relieve Dog Fireworks Anxiety. *Try a Dog Anxiety Vest. Keep your dog occupied during fireworks.
*Provide distraction by giving your dog something delicious to focus on during fireworks, like a frozen Kong with peanut butter and treats. *Muffle the noise. Plug and white noise machine or turn on common music loud enough so that’s it’s camouflaged. If your dog safe zone is in his crate you can cover the top sides and back with a blanket and play music or sounds for him. Just make sure your dog is able to leave the crate if he wants too.
*Comfort your dog. You might have heard that comforting your dog in times of stress can reinforce his fears. However, your dog’s reactions to fireworks are based on a legitimate fear. Providing comfort during this time is appropriate and often helpful.Sitting close to your dog, petting him gently and offering quiet words of reassurance during scary events like fireworks can help to center your dog and might even reduce his fearfulness. *This particular holiday is when a lot of dogs end up escaping, bolting, and getting lost, So make sure all gates are secure shut, and your dog is wearing a collar with a identification tag with your number and address with a recent photography. *On the contrary and a biased opinion if you have a puppy you could use this opportunity to help desensitize him. For an example with all of my dogs I’ve brought them outside while the fireworks were going off at a great distance and far enough away where it would not hurt their sensitive ears. We would walk the beach, streets and practice our training with lots of treats for positive reinforcement or just play in the backyard with their favorite toy. My dogs have never had an issue with fireworks or loud noises throughout their life. Most importantly make sure your dog is ALWAYS on a leash and there collar is tight and secure so they cannot slip out, If they are uncomfortable do not force them. It’s that time of season for black flies. You may notice red spots / ring on your dog. They may cause mild itching. However they are harmless and will go away on its own. They look worse than they feel, so no need to panic. On a rare occasion your dog could have a bad reaction and seek medical attention if you notice anaphylactic shock, wheezing or shortness of breath, swelling of the face, gums, eyes, mouth, difficult moving,walking, excessive drooling, or diarrhea.

You will forever be a part of me and live on in my heart. Heavens gain is our loss. Rest In Peace to my number 1 boy Kaiser 💔He was one of my first full-time clients 10 years ago. I had no idea that he would have become one of my absolute best friends, sidekick, protector, and a dog that I loved as if he was my own. Kaiser made the BIGGEST impact on my business. He was my go to go dog for any situation and demo dog because of he was so well behaved and was every dogs best friend. He has helped so many dogs in so many ways, whether it was to help a dog with their basic manners, socializing, or even dogs that were very dog aggressive. He understood their body language and would give them their space, or help the nervous ones come out of their shell. He always knew how to put a smile on my face. I am beyond grateful for having him in my life for this many years and All of the memories we have together.

Update on Charlie! We are four days away from surgery, on March 1st! We just wanted to thank everyone again who has helped contribute to making this happen! As well for checking in on him and for the great advice. As a reminder I will be off from March 1 until the 17th, and will touch base with everyone on the 15th. I will not be having dogs at my house for the next 6 to 8 weeks due to wanting him to have the best recovery possible!💗💗💗
