🚴‍♂️ Dr. Freedman Rides Again! 🎗️

This weekend, Dr. Freedman is riding in his 23rd Pan-Mass Challenge since he first joined in 2001. His only break came in 2007, when he underwent surgery following his own melanoma diagnosis—a powerful reminder of why this mission is so personal.

18 years later, he’s still going strong, riding for patients, survivors, and in honor of all those impacted by cancer.

Let’s cheer him on as he pedals with purpose once again!

KITTEN UPDATE! 🐾

Wow — we’ve had an amazing response! Thank you all so much for sharing and showing interest in helping these sweet kittens find their furever homes. 💕

Thanks to your support, we’ve received lots of messages and applications. We're currently working through them to match each kitten with the right home. 🏡

These two sweet girls were cruelly dumped in a garage 💔 but were rescued by a Good Samaritan and lovingly fostered by one of our amazing veterinarians. Now they’re healthy, happy, and officially ready to be adopted! 🐾💕

They’re a bonded pair who’ve grown inseparable after everything they’ve been through, so we’re hoping to keep them together. 💞 They’re eating well, learning to use the litter box, and are full of love to give. 🐾

Please be careful in this hot weather☀️ Dogs and cats can overheat easily and can die from heat stroke quickly. Brachycephalic or smushed-face breeds are even more prone to heat stroke. On hot days like these, short walks earlier in the day or later at night are your safest bet, and of course, never leave them in a hot car even for a very short time.

Atlantic Veterinary Hospital and Hawthorne Animal Health Care will be closed on Memorial Day. 🐾
If your pet becomes sick or injured while we are closed, Syrah, a veterinary technician, will be available on Saturday from 1 PM to 6 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM. Outside these hours, a registered technician through our PetNurse answering service will be available to answer your call. We will follow up with all calls during regular business hours on Tuesday.

We will be closing on Tuesday, January 14th at 5 PM for a doctor's meeting. From 5 PM to 6:30 PM you may call and speak with one of our technicians for medical advice. From 6:30 PM on, a registered technician from PetNurse will be available to answer your medical questions.
