River did fantastic, and all of the beebs are doing well. I can’t wait to see them grow. This has been my favorite pairing so far.

I saw a post today from an Australian shepherd breeder who has a roan female. Roan is not in the breed.
Breeders need to understand all genetics of the dogs they’re breeding, including color.

We don’t place puppies based on color and coat type alone. Temperament has to match the families needs. However, it’s extremely important to understand what the dogs can produce.

When a breeder doesn’t understand the genetics, how can they be certain they don’t have a dual sired litter if there are 2+ intact males in the vicinity?
If I were to pair a pattern sable to a recessive solid or bicolor female, those parents will never produce solid or bicolor, because that’s how genetics work.

Not understand how genetics work is one of the reasons people get away with hanging papers. If you suspect something is off, question it (politely). Don’t just turn a blind eye.

Bear has been with Cherise since Wednesday night. This text was last night. It took him less than 24 hours to make himself right at home, after leaving his previous owner and being on a transport van for 3 whole days traveling across the country.
Even right after arriving, there was very slight stress but he never missed a beat. I’m so grateful for Cherise and Hunter for taking this boy in, and I knew he would be in FANTASTIC hands despite the fact I didn’t get to evaluate him first. Being able to go straight to his new home was a huge win for him 🐾

We took tempest and havoc to an outdoor flea market today, to see how they do under pressure. We’ve taken tempest out many times, but it’s usually a less crowded area such as Lowe’s.

Today, they both did AMAZING. They are both very aloof, which is what I like to see, and observant. We only had one small hiccup where a kid rolled on the ground in a hoodie, and they didn’t know what it was and barked just 🤏🏻 but settled quickly and watched.

Havoc needs work on heel, but he picks things up so fast. Im confident he’ll have it down quickly.

These two are a testament to my program. They have both proven to be very stable, aloof, consistent dogs. They are very similar in temperament and drives. I’m so excited to see how the next litter grows out. 🐾🐾

Today at tsc, I got the sweetest compliment from a complete stranger. Two actually. One about my program, and one about me as a person. Those two compliments brightened my entire year. I’ve been down in the dumps lately, and they have reinforced everything I’ve worked for. The support that I continue to receive from those I’m closest to and complete strangers means more than anyone will ever know. Thank you all 🩵🐾
