When you’re a one woman show but want some pics of your horse, you set up a tripod, video, and take screenshots. Super happy with how Kieran is coming along without consistency!🩷

Actually worked on things we needed to for the show ring and damn, once he settled I can believe how consistent he looks! None of this video is duplicated. Its just trimmed down from when we aren't on screen. SUPER happy with his progress! Still a ways to go but we are moving in the right direction!

Love this little girl 💜 I hope she gets big enough to drive so I'll have a country pleasure horse! If not it's ok because she is such a cool little horse and I think she'll be cool in liberty. She is definitely going to be trained and certified to do therapy work. Needs a little maturity on her before we go hard with that. Patience is not yet a virtue for her 😂 However she picks things up so quickly! Thank you so much Jacob Elliott for trusting me with Katja. She is such a joy!

Did some gate practice with the show horses this weekend!

I made some gate posts out of scrap wood and it was finally warm enough to do a little trail practice! I was very happy with how good the horses were!

The snow storm that came through the mid west dumped 10" of snow on us! My youngest hens decided that this was the best time to start laying! Most hens do not lay at all during the winter. If you want egg production to continue during the winter there is a way to trick them. Setting up a light in the coop that gives them "daylight" for 16 hours +/- tricks the chickens into thinking it's summer and they will continue to lay year round. We do this with the horses too just for different reasons. For our show horses it helps keep them from growing a winter coat or to start shedding earlier. For our brood mares, it starts their heat cycle earlier so they can be bred earlier in the year. I have our mares under lights so we can breed early this year. Since I don't have anyone to ultrasound them to confirm pregnancy, it takes a little longer for pregnancy to be confirmed so starting early is a huge advantage!

Our youngest chickens finally started laying! Of course with this winter storm coming in they are frozen since I haven't been checking every day. But now I will be! Excited to get some eggs that aren't frozen so I can eat them!

For accountability and to speak it into existence, I’m posting my big 2026 goals for me and my horses this year.

🌺Poppy- continue driving training and show in classic pleasure/western pleasure driving, driving obstacle, and continue to show in halter obstacle. Attend Pinto World Championship and AMHR Nationals. Finish her PtHA ROM in In Hand Trail.

🇩🇰Katja- continue training for and show in halter and halter obstacle. Attend AMHR Nationals and AMHA World. Start training for eventual therapy horse certification.

🩷Kieran- continue driving and obstacle training and show in carriage driving, driving obstacle, and halter obstacle. Attend ABRA Mini World, Pinto World, and AMHA World. Our goal at Pinto World is for High Point Solid Mini at Pinto World. Finish public access training and continue task training so he can work as my mobility assistance service animal when needed. Complete his therapy horse certification.

📺Jace- continue driving training to show in classic pleasure/western pleasure. Attend AMHR Nationals and AMHA World. More news on his 2026 show path to come!

I have set some big goals for 2026. However, with all my medical stuff going on and some depression to add insult to injury, I’m working on some small short term goals that will help me reach the big dreams. First goal of the year is getting better at conditioning the horses consistently. My guidelines are a minimum of 10 mins longing at minimum 4 times a week. I will always shoot for more but with all my medical appointments I’m trying to keep it realistic. Consistently working the horses has been a struggle for me this winter. But now we are in the new year and if I don’t start now, then we won’t ever reach those big goals for 2026. So I am posting our “starting” photos. I’m going to continue to post our progress to keep myself accountable. This is my 2026 show string:

EE Mondays Eyes of the World “Katja” 29in 2yo mare
Goals to compete in AMHA and AMHR in halter and halter obstacle and to start training for therapy work.

Silverleaf DK Ricochet Fine N Fancy “Poppy” 34in 5yo mare
Goals to show in Pinto and AMHR in driving and halter obstacle. Hoping to finish her Pinto ROM in halter obstacle.

Swanneechicks Daytime Drama “Jace” 32in 4yo stallion
Goals to show in AMHA and AMHR in driving and in hand events. Exciting news to come on Jace’s show year!

Hegers Storybook Trigger Warning “Kieran” 29.5in 4yo stallion
Goals to show in AMHA, PtHA, and ABRA in driving and halter obstacle. Planning to also have his service animal training accomplished enough for me to start working him for mobility assistance when needed and also have him certified for therapy work.

I cannot wait to see the transformations on these 4! I know it’s hard to see now with all their hair but I am positive there will be noticeable changes in 30 days!
