"Stripes" has an important announcement!๐ข๐๐ฃ๏ธ
Keep your pets safe this holiday season!
As much as we love seeing your furry (and hairless!) babies here at Joynt Veterinary, we don't want your holidays to include an emergency vet visit, so please keep the following in mind..
๐๐ฆฎ๐ฉ๐โโฌ๐
Holiday meals can be very dangerous for pets๐
๐ฆ Rich, fatty foods can equal painful pancreatitis for both cats and dogs.
๐ง
๐ง Common ingredients such as garlic, onions, walnuts, or raisins, and spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon or allspice can quickly lead to anemia and/or organ failure.
๐ฆ๐ฅง Dessert foods can often lead to diarrhea and/or dehydration, and xylitol, a common sugar substitute, is HIGHLY poisonous to dogs and sadly, can quickly turn fatal.๐
Emergency signs to watch for:
๐ Unusual hiding/lethargy
๐ Vomiting/diarrhea
๐ Difficulty breathing
๐ Pale gums
๐ Not eating/drinking for extended periods of time.
Give your pets all the extra snuggles this season, not a belly ache (or worse).
Stay safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
๐ธ special thanks to for trusting us to care for her kitties.
