Those early puppy days can feel like a lot… but they don’t have to 🐾

Milo 🐶 (11-week-old Shih Tzu)
Sammy 🐶 (8-week-old long-haired Dachshund)

Both are off to such a great start, and their families are setting them up for success right from the beginning.

If you’ve got a new puppy and you’re feeling overwhelmed or just want to make sure you’re doing things right, I’d love to help—reach out anytime 🤍

24 hours with Lewis felt like a WEEK of watching an adult dog 😅

18-week-old working-line Golden Retriever
bred for drive, stamina, and having a job

so when he’s awake…
he’s doing something

training
sniffing
retrieving (everything 😂)
learning how to exist in the world

meanwhile, an older dog?
they just hang out

same house
completely different experience

puppies aren’t “too much”
they’re just new to everything

and Lewis?
he’s doing exactly what he’s supposed to do…
He’s being a very good puppy. 🐾💖

UPDATE!
Hi everyone! Quick update on CJ — we had several people come meet him today, and one of them has decided to adopt him. I truly believe he’s going to a wonderful home, and I’ll be working with his new person to help him settle in and thrive.

Thank you so much to everyone who shared the post, reached out, and helped spread the word. We have such an amazing dog-loving community here, and I really appreciate all the support.

🐾 Help Us Find CJ the Right Home 🐾

This adorable little guy is CJ, a 15-lb Shih Tzu / Bichon mix looking for a fresh start with a family who has the time and energy for a young dog.

CJ was adopted as a puppy and unfortunately his current owners are no longer able to care for him due to serious health issues and an upcoming move to assisted living. Our goal is to find him a loving home where he can thrive.

CJ’s Details
• Born: March 14, 2025
• Weight: ~15 pounds
• Neutered (December)
• Up to date on vaccinations
• Vet: Seaside Veterinary Practice

CJ is still very much a young dog with puppy energy. He’s cute, curious, and full of personality, but he hasn’t had the training and structure a puppy needs. He will do best with someone who is ready to:

• Provide daily walks and enrichment
• Work on potty training and basic manners
• Give him structure, patience, and consistency
• Help him learn how to be the wonderful companion he has the potential to be

To help set CJ and his adopter up for success, I’m offering two free training sessions for anyone local to the St. Simons / Brunswick area, along with reduced-rate sessions afterward if desired. As a local certified dog trainer, I’d love to help CJ settle into his new home, build good habits, and support his new family so he can truly thrive.

He’s a sweet little dog who simply needs the right home, guidance, and routine.

If you or someone you know might be a good fit for CJ, please send me a message and I’d be happy to talk more and answer questions.

Let’s find this little guy the home he deserves. ❤️

Sunday Puppy Social Funday 🐶☀️

What a great day watching our puppies grow in confidence and have fun together!

In our small group, newcomer Teddy the Toy Poodle started class feeling a little overwhelmed and hid under the bench. But Leah the Cocker Spaniel and Bailey the Chihuahua did an excellent job showing him how fun puppy socials can be. By the end of class Teddy was out playing with everyone and having the best time. We are so proud of him!

Wren the Cavalier was our usual superstar, and Millie the Boykin and Wren had a blast playing together.

In the large group, Finley the Flat-Coated Retriever and Louis the Golden Retriever were such good boys. They played beautifully, shared toys and puzzles, and showed off lovely social skills.

Our shy/tiny group was adorable today with Bixby, Lily the Havanese, and Baxter the Chihuahua all doing a great job sharing space.

And Noelle was back after a long break and did such a fantastic job jumping right back in. We love seeing these puppies grow!

Huge thank you to my amazing co-trainer Bri from Mindful Canine Training. I couldn’t do it without you! 💛

Most dogs aren’t misbehaving, they’re just misunderstood.

Dog training isn’t about control.
It’s about communication.

Yes, I teach foundational skills like loose leash walking, recall, and polite behavior. But the real work is helping you understand your dog and build a relationship that works in real life.

One of my superpowers as a trainer is listening to your goals, your struggles, and who your dog is as an individual and building a plan that’s realistic, effective, and supportive of your dog’s wellbeing.

Because the goal isn’t a perfect dog.
It’s a relationship that works.

If you’re feeling stuck, I offer a free consultation call to talk through what’s going on and how I can help.

A client sent me this after Charlie’s board and train.
Off-leash reliability was the big goal so they could truly enjoy beach walks.
Seeing both Charlie and his people happier made my day! 🐾💙🌊

Science and professional consensus agree: e-collars are inhumane and are not appropriate tools to use on our best friends.

"Use common sense: If you’re trying to teach your dog a new language and open the lines of communication using methods like shock, choke and pinch collars or yelling and throwing things at your dog, these are NOT a good choice! They will not help your dog learn to trust you, build your bond nor open the lines of communication. Would those methods help you to trust someone?
👉🏼Responsible dog ownership means guiding your dog with kindness, not control. Training isn’t optional—it’s part of love." - Dr. Lisa Radosta

Two weeks. Ten sessions. One absolutely incredible dog.

Meet Lily, a one-year-old Llewellyn English Setter who came to me without much formal training but with the heart, drive, and athleticism of a Ferrari. Her parents wanted to build strong foundational skills and improve loose leash walking… and Lily said, “Say less, I’m ready.”

Over our day-training package, we worked on Sit, Down, Place, Leave It, Drop, Wait, Middle, and even introduced nose work games to channel all that working-dog brilliance. We trained on her beautiful property and then took it to the Village to proof those skills around real-world distractions.

Many dogs can’t focus for a full hour… Lily finished each session like, “What’s next? Let’s GO.”

I love my people clients, but there’s something extra special about getting to nerd out and just train the dog for two weeks straight. Lily reminded me exactly why I adore this job.

If you’re looking to build strong foundational skills or finally enjoy loose leash walks, I’d love to help. Send me a message!

🌊 Beach Training with Jill 🐾

Six-month-old Jill, the mini labradoodle, had the most beautiful morning on the beach today, long line dragging, tail up, nose to the wind. And what you’ll hear in the video is that I wasn’t actually calling her back over and over. I was giving her freedom.

At this age, when distractions are low and we have tons of space, I like to test the waters: let the puppy run, explore, chase, and be a dog… and then reinforce heavily when they choose to check in or come back on their own. And then? I release them right back to what they were doing.

That’s how you build a recall that’s joyful, not a chore.
That’s how you make coming to you feel safe, fun, and worth it.
That’s how you strengthen rapport instead of interrupting their autonomy every 15 seconds.

It’s not a flex — it’s relationship building, smart reinforcement, and setting a puppy up to succeed before adolescence hits full swing.

Jill thrived today. ✨💛
