He started exactly where many of you are starting, simply wanting to become a better handler for his own dog.

As an accomplished legal professional, dog training began as a personal interest. Then he went through the Team Dog Training program, learning the same principles Mike Ritland developed through years of training special operations canines, including dogs supporting U.S. West Coast SEAL Teams.

Does trimming your dog’s nails turn into a wrestling match?

Before the next groomer appointment or another nail-trimming contraption, put some time into teaching your dog to feel comfortable with the process.

That’s what we’re working on with Max: small steps, clear communication, and rewards.

🐾 Start with a brief, gentle paw touch.
