🐇💙 Rescue Partnership Spotlight 💙🐰
Buns in the Sun was recently contacted by Palm Beach Parrot & Bird Rescue/Sanctuary Of South Florida with an urgent request for help. A stunning male Angora rabbit had just arrived at their facility after living in a barn, and he was in desperate need of grooming care.
While his “before” photo might look like a fluffy dream, the reality underneath was heartbreaking. Though he had already been treated for fleas before arriving, his coat was still packed with flea dirt and debris buried deep in his fur. On top of that, he was completely covered in painful mats — thick chains of dreadlocked fur pulling at his feet, belly, neck, and ears. This kind of matting not only restricts movement but also prevents a rabbit from properly regulating body temperature, causing constant discomfort.
Though he didn’t leave looking like a show rabbit, he left feeling like one — free, comfortable, and finally able to move with ease. 🐰✨
We’re so grateful to work alongside local rescues and shelters. It truly takes a village to give these animals the second chance they deserve.
