If anyone is able to help these poor babies, please do! This was supposed to be a simple spay day but everything has changed in an instant! Luckily, this poor mama was in custody before giving birth but she still freaked out!! Babies most likely wouldn't have survived much longer without intervention. All the extra costs that come with surprises like this, sometimes just can't be avoided. Any bit will help and lot's of well wishes and sharing this post, definitely is greatly appreciated!
Sooo the momma cat we took from the Duette colo y named Sweetpea gave birth overnight. Sge dod not seem that far along and we were going to take her for spaying on Tuesday and this morning I heard squeeking and the kittens were tucked behind a litter box on the concrete while mom was perched up high with her other family members. Sweetpea does not live up to her name and is super wild. So, I secured the 2 kittens, one was limp the other feisty. Then I had to maneuver mom into a transfer cage and separating her from the other 6 in the catio that were also flying in my face... i was not going to give up and eventually had her pinned down to put her in a carrier with her babies. Then we weren't sure if that was actually the female that gave birth because there is another female that looks a lot like her and no ni***es with milk were evident in either one of them. I put the family in a quiet place covered up. I heard no crying kittens so checked after an hour and mom looked like she was nursing them. Thank you Rita from Ritas Rescue for listening to my panick and giving me tips!! I have now moved mom in a cage where she can stay in the carrier but has room to move and eat, drink and use litter box! What a morning. I don't know if the kittens will make it. So far after 4 hours, they are moving, on the ni***es and warm because mom is keeping them warm. Monitoring and praying they will be okay.🙏
