Wanted to share this, as Sarah was a very important part of our beginnings….our very first groomer. She is so special to us, and her passion for grooming was like no other. She left PetWorks a couple of years ago to battle cancer, and soon after her diagnosis, her husband developed his own health issues. Sadly, he lost his battle and passed away. We love you Sarah and we’re so sorry for the loss of your Chuck (Charles).

The last night we’ll see all of her cute teeny bottom teeth…..Feelin’ like bad parents….we waited a bit too long for CindyLou’s dental cleaning, and now she has some loose teeth and needs extractions. 😬😞 CindyLou never chews on anything (which is so important to help keep teeth clean), and brushing her teeth is impossible. 😵‍💫
Fortunately, we found and Dr. Stephanie Livermore, a specialist in veterinary dentistry….She’s amazing and we know CL is in excellent hands. Hoping they have some extra sedatives for me though. 😉🤪

It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye….
We should have said goodbye in Sept., but we re-signed our lease, holding out hope that the busy season would be amazing, and that more people would shop local, plus, we just didn’t want to quit. However, , sadly, we were proven wrong…..and then there was Helene and Milton. 😞🌀
We’re surrounded by thousands of people and their pets in high rises, and should be jamming, but the “busy” season that all small businesses desperately need (especially after a record slow summer) didn’t deliver. Our sales are down considerably and it is with heavy hearts, that after a little more than 5 years, plus surviving Covid, we have to close our store.
It’s frustrating and sad……Amazon, Chewy, Barkbox, Farmers’s Dog, etc., etc……we can provide comparable prices, better products, superior service and Same Day delivery, but we just couldn’t attract enough customers to stay open due to increasing online competition. We have hundreds of amazing regulars, (unfortunately not enough of you) who have supported us over the years, and we THANK YOU, and will miss you. 😞 Final day for the store is Jan 25th.

P.S. The Grooming Salon will remain OPEN!! 🐾👍

People are spending upwards of $5,000+ for puppies they don’t realize are sick. The puppies are “certified healthy” by Petland; some end up dead shortly thereafter. Other puppies from Petland have been known to carry the germ campylobacter that can make people sick.

No responsible breeder sells their puppies to a retail stores like Petland or Sunshine Puppies. The puppies do come from - large-scale commercial breeding operations where profit is placed above the well-being of the dogs.
