Maria’s love for animals began in Addison, IL, where she gained hands-on experience fostering and working in shelters. While pursuing her degree in Marine Biology at UWF, her life took a wonderful turn when she welcomed Oliver, a Neapolitan Mastiff, into her life. This sparked her passion for dog training and led her to a ReviveK9 apprenticeship under Catey Cuesta.

Maria is also passionate about dog sports like bite sports and scent work, and she has a special interest in training personal protection dogs. Her approach focuses on fulfilling dogs’ biological needs and helping owners build stronger bonds with their pets.

At 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗞𝟵, we believe in the power of teamwork. While Maria may be your primary trainer, you’ll have the support of our entire team. We collaborate regularly to ensure each dog gets the best possible care. Together, we help you and your dog achieve success! 💪🐾

Sometimes ‘disobedience’ is actually confusion.
If your dog seems to ignore you, they might be overwhelmed—not stubborn.

👉 3 Signs Your Dog is Too Overwhelmed to Listen:

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻.
Your pup might go still and stop responding—not out of defiance, but because their brain is overloaded.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗲𝘆𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁.
This can be a calming signal or an attempt to cope with stress in the environment.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗴𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁.
Sniffing the ground, pacing, or suddenly chasing distractions can mean they’re mentally checking out.

Training only works when your dog feels safe enough to engage. Sometimes slowing down is the fastest way forward.

Catey’s passion for helping animals began in Memphis, TN, where her family fostered dogs through the Humane Society. With a Bachelors in Psychology and experience working in animal hospitals, Catey brings a unique approach to training, specializing in reactivity and aggression.

But at 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗞𝟵, we’re more than just individual trainers — we’re a 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺. While Catey may be your lead trainer, the entire ReviveK9 team is in your corner. We collaborate, consult, and support each other to ensure that every dog gets the best, well-rounded care possible. 💪🐾

We’re excited to introduce the visionary behind ReviveK9: 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲! As our founder and lead dog trainer, Coreena’s journey is one of passion, dedication, and a love for animals that began on her grandparents’ ranch in Oregon.

Her path took a unique turn during her service in the 𝗨𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱, where a station mascot reignited her love for working with dogs. This led her to immerse herself in service animal work, pursue professional dog training, and eventually found 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗞𝟵 in St. Pete.

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮’𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆:
Training is about more than commands—it’s about building trust, respect, and lasting bonds between dogs and their owners. With a deep focus on behavior theory and understanding each dog’s unique needs, Coreena’s methods foster lifelong relationships.
