DON'T FORGET! With the heat wave on the way, you CANNOT leave your pets unattended in the car. Cracking the windows does not help the situation. Within a short amount of time, the inside of your vehicle will heat to a level that becomes dangerous and even deadly.

FRIENDLY REMINDER: As many gear up for the impending heat wave, it's important to watch where you (and your pets) are walking. As air temperatures surge into the 90s, both concrete and asphalt temperatures will catapult to dangerous levels. That can burn your pups paws if you're not careful.

It's baby squirrel season.
Just because the squirrel is tiny doesn't mean he's a baby. If the squirrel has a fluffed-out tail or a body longer than 6 inches, he's probably fine.
If the squirrel’s eyes are not open or doesn’t have a fluffed-out tail, it may need help. The first thing to do is to see if the baby is visibly wounded. It must be left for the mother squirrel if it has no wounds. Usually, the baby has just fallen from the nest. Place the baby under the tree where it most likely fell from. Then, leave the area. The mother squirrel WILL NOT COME BACK IF YOU ARE PRESENT. Check on the baby a couple of hours later and see if the mother squirrel has taken it back to the nest. If not, don't hesitate to contact Animal Control at 636-278-2255.
