Great news: Angela, my "Warrior Woman" (Channing gave her that name) is now HOME. She was discharged less than 48 hours after her getting out of surgery, AMAZING. She is very glad to be home, sleep in her own and have her puppies for comfort. Angela is sporting a "Punk Haircut" (her terminology) and a wild S Shaped Scar (Super Woman). Dr. Koebbe was very pleased with how the surgery went and the results (bragged a little but okay with that as opposed to saying "it wasn't his best work"). She has a long road for full recovery but my biggest challenge is to keep her on schedule and patient. THANK YOU, to ALL of you for your Prayers, thoughts and concerns. Much love, Brook

Dear, Gone to the dogs family and friends. I pray that this post finds you well, safe and closer to "normal" after the two devastating Hurricanes last year. I miss GTTD, especially working with Missie and Channing, my wonderful conversations with you and being to able to interact with your four legged family member. Now some news; my Wife Angela, whom many you met has a "sizable Brain Tumor, and is in surgery as I write this post. I apologize, for not posting something sooner but it's been a whirlwind of appointments since we met with the Nero Surgeon last Thursday. The good news is the Tumor most likely is benign but it is "brain surgery". Also good vibes, the Dr. is a dog owner who actually brings Maverick to the office and interacts with patients (good therapy). I ask for your prayers and good thoughts as Angela goes thru this process and recovery. I will do my best to post an update. With much love, Brook

Dear GTTD Family and Friends,
I pray that this post finds you and your family (2 and 4 legged) well, safe and celebrating this time of year with the ones you love.
Please note that it is with great sadness that I'm announcing that Gone to the Dogs Boutique and Grooming will NOT reopen.
Our landlord and I came to agreement that due to financial constraints, permitting issues (backlogs), limitations of qualified repairmen and materials, and other concerns/issues our little grooming business on Corey Ave. will not return.
I would like to thank you, for all your support and encouragement these past three difficult months. Many you have experienced the same challenges and pain that Helene and Milton delivered to GTTD and Angela and I (our home), so I wish you the best during your road to recovery.
I would also like to thank those of you who have continued to have your pet groomed by Missie, from her home. She and I are in debt to you for continuing that business relationship and I hope you will continue to use her expertise to groom your pet.
I also wish to acknowledge Channing Riley (Groomer) for working with me and our clients these past years. She is a wonderful groomer and It's been a great joy watching her "amazing" daughters grow to be fine young girls, and I thank her for that opportunity. THANK YOU, Channing
In addition, I want to thank Missie (Senior Groomer) for working with me these past 9.5 years. She is truly an expert groomer and her dedication to her craft is unmatched. In my 50 years of work, in a variety of professions. I've never met someone who works as hard as she does even under trying circumstances (i.e. Broken foot, flu, etc.). Missie has been the foundation of GTTD for over 14 years. THANK YOU, Missie
Finally, many thanks to all of you (GTTD clients/family) for trusting us with your cherished "family member". It's been a great pleasure getting to know you and your pet(s), while sharing laughs. stories, and sometimes tears. I miss our frequent interactions (weekly. monthly, etc.) and there's a void in my life that has yet to be filled. So,THANK YOU my friends.
May you and your family have a Very Merry Christmas and May 2025 be a "Better" and less eventful year for ALL.
With Love, Brook

Good evening, GTTD family and friends. I pray this message finds you and your loved ones (2 & 4 legged) well, safe and continuing your recovery from our damaging Hurricanes. If you are in the process of "rebuilding" and putting your home and "life" back together you know this is an arduous endeavor with many hurdles and roadblocks (permit backlogs, materials shortage and licensed craftsman in high demand, etc.). As for our grooming shop on Corey Ave., we were able to repair and upgrade the Damaged Electrical Outlets etc (paid by Angela and I) . Many thanks, to Rob at Raz Electrical (give him a call, if you need work to be done). Unfortunately, we now have a potential (new) safety concern that must be addressed and remedied before we can proceed with any additional "rebuilding". Until, this is addressed and "fixed" by the correct party, the shop remains in "limbo". I appreciate your patience and understanding and I'm grateful to Y'all who have reached out to Missie to take care of your pets grooming needs. Many, many prayers to you and your family during this trying times. With highest regards, Brook

Good morning GTTD family and friends, I hope this messages finds you and your family well, safe and in "recovery" from the two Major Hurricanes that caused so much damage to everyone. Helene's record flooding caused significant damage to our electrical systems (outlets, wiring, etc.). All of the aforementioned must be replaced before we can safely operate. I'm in the process of finding a credible, reliable and cost effective company to do the aforementioned work (I've met with one co. yesterday) and will feverently work to get this done. In addition, I've also met with a contractor (last week) to replace the dry wall and flooring. If you are personally (your home damaged, like mine) going thru this process you can appreciate the high demand and "back log" legitimate companies now have because of Helene and Milton. I will continue to provide updates on this page (Phone system at the shop was under water and can't be "powered up"). Best wishes to Y'all and thank you for your support, BB

Dear GTTD family and friends, Thank you, for your messages if support, good wishes and prayers. Our little shop on Corey Ave. is today in the process "remediation" (Flooring removed, Walls/sheet rock cut out and then extensive treatment to treat mold). This process will take several days so we should be able to get "back in" no later than Wednesday. I want to thank Missie, Rose, Angela and my two "Kids" (Brielle and Blaine) for tackling all that remained to get the shop ready for the aforementioned. I also want to send my prayers and best wishes to many of you who also lost much (home, car business, etc.). I also ask that you support any locally owned business (restaurant, etc.) that have been able to open there doors, quickly. For example, Taverna on the Bay on Gulf Blvd in SPB is open (limited hours). As mentioned before, we don't have Phone/internet at this time but once the remediation is complete and an a electrician fixes outlets etc. Will get back, "on line". With highest regards, Brook

Good morning, GTTD family and friends The "clean up" process at the shop has begun and with the wonderful help of Missie, Sean (friend of my son) and Rose and her son (Dallas). We were able to remove the majority of the front of the shop items effected by the unprecedented flood waters. We will back today working hard to get to stage to where we can begin the "Deep Cleaning" phase. Sadly, we be closed for a while longer (it's difficult to give a exact time frame) but I'm will do my best to provide updates. Our prayers and thoughts go out to many of you our loyal and wonderful family (clients) who were also effected by Helene. Best wishes to you and your family (with 2 &4 legs). Brook

09/30/2024

Good morning GTTD family and friends, I pray that you, your family with 2 and 4 legs are well and safe. Sadly, our worst fears became real as our little shop on Corey Ave. was flooded with almost 3 feet of water. Like all the businesses on Corey we received damage to walls, floors, displays, equipment, electrical outlets, and merchandise. In addition, the flood waters knock out our phone and internet service (that equipment was submerged). I have a meeting today (9/30) with a remediation company to determine our next steps in the road to recovery. This "road" may take awhile so please be patient. I'm very grateful to those who have sent their prayers, concerns and uplifting messages. Please note, the shop doesn't not have a working phone system (sorry) and many steps will be needed to be taken before we are "back on line". I will do my best to provide updates on this page so thank you for your understanding. FYI: Our home on Boca Ciega Island (SPB) was hit with almost 5 feet of storm surge and like many others on the Barrier Islands we lost everything inside. However, our family (people and pets) are safe, sound and resilient. Best wishes, to all Brook

Dear GTTD family and Friends, We pray that you and your family (with 2 and 4 legs) are safe and sound after Helene. At this time, access to SPB is closed to the public (only emergency personnel) thus we will be Closed until further notice. As soon as I can get on the Island and check on the shop and my home (doesn't sound good) I will access any damage and determine when we can re-open. I appreciate your understanding and patience, as we all recover from what was catastrophic event. Best wishes to you, Sincerely Brook, Angela, Missie and Channing

08/05/2024

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STREET FLOODING IN AND AROUND ST. PETE BEACH, WE WILL BE CLOSED TODAY (MONDAY, AUG. 5TH).
We apologize for the any convivences! As soon as I can to the shop, my neighborhood is still flooded, I will contact our wonderful clients. Thank you, for your understanding.
