EVP Theory…
Do we receive messages for a reason?
Is there a reason why?
Should we pursue them?
Our answer to all three is… YES. Absolutely.
Just a few months ago, while staying at a hotel in Birmingham because our son was in hospital, curiosity led us to do a very quick EVP session.
On the second weekend there, we were on the 4th floor. The hallway was completely quiet, so I stepped outside our room, switched on my voice recorder, captured 4 short bursts of audio… then went straight back inside.
No questions were asked.
No investigating was taking place.
And we had absolutely NO prior knowledge of what was about to emerge.
What we discovered afterwards completely blew our minds.
While reviewing the recordings, we uncovered TWO separate EVPs — and little did we know, they would not only connect to each other… but also reveal an incredible story.

So we started researching…
Andrew Brookes was a REAL person.
From what we uncovered, his house would have originally stood just feet within where the hotel reception area is today. He lived on Albert Street in the old Birmingham back-to-back slums before the area was demolished and rebuilt.
Andrew died at only 25 years old.
Jane was his wife.
Together, they had 3 children.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is discovering that Andrew was buried in an overflow burial ground — a site now believed to lie beneath the rear car park of the hotel itself.
Many of these poor souls were buried 6 coffins deep, with no markers, no remembrance… and today, most people would never even know they are there.
This is exactly why we listen.
Sometimes there IS a reason behind what comes through… even if it cannot fully be explained.
