A great visit with my “California Kids” was capped off with the most fun breakfast at Thornton’s Cafe in St. Joseph,MI on Pleasant street. John and I have the same ,sometimes warped, sense of humor. Trying to decide what to eat, John found Mickey Mouse pancakes ( for kids) and in that same breakfast offering he found piglet somethings but no piglet pancakes! Well then, we just asked about the chef’s sense of humor and the really great and patient waitress said it was very good so we drew up our “request” to show the chef how we would go about making one. The waitress agreed to take it back and we listened for either an explosion or laughter - nothing - ominous silence. But we later got the biggest surprise- a beautiful very very creative “piglet pancake”. We laughed and admired and cringed when John finally began to eat it - the curly tail first. Fun,fun,fun.

It probably would help if I posted tge picture. Duh! I may do a few more of these if there is any interest in purcha...

I didn’t seem to have a picture of the poppy field so, I assumed I had not posted it either. This hangs on my bedroom wall where it gives mea bit of a positive boost in the morning.

Finally coming out of a creative slump I think. Working on a “cartoon” series”. Have been doing lots of quick sketches bit not very much into larger paintings right now. I don’t have a market so if anyone reading this would like to have something done, let me know.

The Peasant Pantry near the corner of Red Arrow and Sawyer Rd. Will be featuring msome of my art along with Julie Bender and Jan Anderson’s this month. We will also all have some cards for sale while there. I will do my usual “urban style” quick sketches while there for about two hours between 11:00 and 1:00, these will be gifts to you from me ( as they have always been) and from the Peasant’s Pantry. So enjoy the great food and you may be given an extra little something.

It has certainly been awhile since I pisted anything new and that is mostly because I really have not been healthy enough to paint much. Long story for another time, but I believe there are a few I have not posted.

One of only about three attempts at pastels. 33years of writing on a chalkboard made it a bit difficult to enjoy chalk! This is a view from my desk in the studio. A few of the quick sketches and quick watercolors on a recent trip by train to Washington and Oregon then on the American Empress paddlewheeler up the Columbia and Snake rivers. Doing a watercolor without pencil sketching on a fast moving train is just a bit challenging ( just a wee bit) but a great way to get people to talk to you.

I will add a few more next week hopefully with at least one finished piece done from a sketch or photo on the trip.
