🪑 Sit doesn’t end just because you move.
Distance is one of the most misunderstood parts of training — and it’s not about stepping away fast.
It’s about what your dog learns when you do.
We’re breaking this down inside the classroom today 🐾🩵
Real dogs. Real life. Real progress.
👉 Comment SIT if distance is where your dog struggles.

🐾 Tip of the Day: Adding Duration to the Name Game
When your dog snaps their head to you after hearing their name, don’t rush the reward — pause for a beat.
Say their name → eye contact → count 1 → YES! → reward
Build slowly. Keep it fun. No pressure if they look away — just try again.
That little pause? That’s where focus, calm, and real-life reliability start to grow 💛
✨ Heads up: tips like this (plus deeper breakdowns, videos, and real-life examples) will soon be living in one easy place so learning with your dog keeps getting better. More to come 👀🐶

Mental exercise doesn’t have to be complicated 💭🐾
Today we’re playing a simple touch game in a figure-8 between chairs.
It looks fun (because it is 😄), but it’s also doing some big things behind the scenes:
✔️ Focus
✔️ Body awareness
✔️ Engagement with YOU
✔️ A tired, satisfied brain
Games like this are perfect for rainy days, cold days, or when your dog needs an outlet that isn’t just physical exercise. A few minutes of brain work can go a long way.
Simple. Intentional. Effective. 💛

🐾 Training Tip of the Day 🐾
Why “Touch” & “Spin” Are More Powerful Than You Think
Simple skills like touch (nose to hand) and spin aren’t just cute tricks — they’re building blocks for more complex, wanted behaviors.
✨ Here’s why they matter:
Touch teaches your dog how to follow guidance, build focus, and move their body intentionally. This can later help with recalls, loose-leash walking, position changes, and confidence in new environments.
Spin helps dogs learn body awareness, direction, and how to move calmly instead of exploding with energy.
Once your dog understands these basics, we can: ➡️ Redirect jumping into a spin
➡️ Use touch to guide into heel, place, or door manners
➡️ Build impulse control through movement instead of correction
I teach dogs what TO do, not just what not to do — and these simple cues open the door to so many calm, functional behaviors 🐶💛

🐾 Trick Tip of the Day: “Spin” 🐾
This one’s fun, engaging, and great for building body awareness and focus.
How to teach it:
Hold a treat at your dog’s nose.
Slowly lure them in a circle.
As soon as they complete the circle → mark (“Yes!”) and reward.
Repeat a few times, then add the cue “Spin.”
Practice both directions to keep things balanced.
Pro tip:
Once they’ve got it, fade the lure and switch to a small hand signal for a cleaner, more confident spin.
Simple, enjoyable, and a great confidence builder for your pup! 🐾🩵
Little tricks like this build big skills. If you’d like guidance tailored to your dog, feel free to reach out anytime.🩵🐾

🐾 Tip of the Day: Jumping
Real talk — I’m working on this right now with Cletas, our family dog 😅 so you’re not alone.
Jumping usually comes from excitement, not “bad behavior.” Dogs jump because it’s worked before. Our goal is to teach what to do instead.
✨ Try this:
Stay calm when you come in (I know… easier said than done)
Turn slightly sideways and avoid eye contact if they jump
The second all four paws hit the floor → mark (“yes!”) and reward
Rinse, repeat, be boringly consistent
With Cletas, I’m reminding myself that progress isn’t perfect — it’s practiced. Little wins add up, and calm greetings are teachable 💛
If your dog struggles with jumping, you’re not failing — you’re just in the training phase. Been there. Still there. We’ve got this 🐶✨

🐾 Puppy Tip of the Day! 🐶✨
The Name Game = Instant Focus
If your puppy acts like they have “selective hearing” 😅 don’t jump straight to commands — start with their name!
✅ Say their name once
✅ The SECOND they look at you → “YES!” + treat
✅ Do this 5–10 times (short + fun!)
This simple little game builds:
✨ attention
✨ eye contact
✨ better listening
✨ and sets the foundation for recall later
📌 Quick reminder: Don’t use their name when you’re upset (“NOOOO Bella!”) or they’ll learn their name means trouble 😬

Reactivity Tip of the Day 🐾
If your dog reacts on walks, don’t rush to correct it. First, create space. Distance helps your dog feel safe enough to think again. Take a few steps back, let them breathe, and reward any moment of calm or disengagement.
✨ Progress isn’t about “perfect behavior.” It’s about helping your dog feel safe, understood, and supported.
Consistent. Patient. Kind.
That’s how real change happens.
Try it today and tell me — does your puppy respond faster? 👇💛
