Puppies should be introduced to grooming by their breeder starting at roughly 3 weeks, and regularily afterward. This means bathing, drying, brushing, and clipperwork! Its important for the owner to get them on a regular schedule when they bring them home ASAP to prep them for a successful life of grooming

We are seeing more and more doodles... and a surplus of owners who dont educate themselves on the needs of their dogs. Doodles are prone to behavioral issues, high anxiety, and fear reactivity. Dogs also have ages where they need to meet milestones like children, otherwise they fall behind and are harder to teach/train. They need to be getting groomed before 6+ months old to help prevent poor grooming etiquette. Lots of groomers are now refusing dogs who have not been trained due to the risk of injury to dog and groomer, breaking equipment, screaming, thrashing, and other poor behaviors, etc.

At home you can handle feet, hold legs, hold chin hair, use electric toothbrush to mimic clipper vibrations/sound, brush + comb frequently, and most importantly... research your pup. It takes a few Google searches to help set your pup up for a successful life both in and out of the grooming salon!
