Spencer the Office Cat has officially found his forever home!! ❤📣🥹

He first came to us in 2022 and has proven to be a fan favorite over the years. Serving as a bouncer at the front door, he kept a level of professionalism that is the purr-fect combo of aloof and affectionate! He claimed many cat towers as his domain and tried to steal food any chance he could, from his fellow office mates. We will miss him, for sure, but are SO excited he found his place! ❤

Our Chateau Gato wine bottles may be empty, but our hearts are so full!

Chateau Gato rescues incredible wines and gives them a second chance, while helping our cats find theirs in the process. Last weekend, the community came together for Chateau Gato's release party, highlighting the importance of rescuing both cats and wine! We drank some wine, ate some great food, and had some resident cats get adopted!

In the process, Chateau Gato was able to raise $10,000 for We Care, showing what amazing things our community can accomplish together!

We are so grateful for all that were able to come visit and celebrate with us, and are especially grateful for our amazing volunteers, who helped set up, organize, and advocate for our furry friends! We also want to extend our deepest gratitude toward Chateau Gato team and all of the amazing work they did!

We look forward to seeing what Chateau Gato can accomplish in the future and are so honored that their journey started with us!

"She loves going for rides in the car, especially if a PupCup is involved. She is getting better on walks and spends parts of her days zooming across the yard. She had her first outing to Petco where she got to do a little shopping. She will be Wonder Girl for Halloween. We will send pictures!"

The next, you're helping someone surrender the pet they've loved for years.

That's the reality of working in an animal shelter. Ashley Armstrong describes it as an emotional rollercoaster, where incredible victories and heartbreaking moments can happen within minutes of each other.

For shelter leaders, recognizing that emotional weight and giving staff space to process it isn't optional. It's part of taking care of the people who care for the animals.

Animal rescue asks people to care deeply, but that compassion can come at a cost.

Ashley Armstrong shares why supporting shelter staff has to go beyond simply telling them to “take a moment” or “practice self-care.” Sometimes, the most important thing a leader can do is be honest, listen, and remind their team that they're human too.

Because you can't expect people to keep giving everything they have without giving them space to recharge.
