Audubon Veterinary Hospital

Audubon Veterinary Hospital We strive to know all of our clients personally and our patients by name. Dr. Elizabeth Morgan is a native of South Louisiana.

Although she has lived in several places around the world she returned to Louisiana to attend college and acquire her veterinary degree. She graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 prior to beginning practice in West Feliciana Parish. She lives with her husband, two sons, six horses, five dogs, four cats and a goat. In addition to caring for her own mena

gerie and family she is the sole practitioner at the Audubon Animal Hospital, a mixed animal practice. What little free time she gets she spends pleasure riding her horses with her husband. Audubon Animal Hospital is a small country Veterinary practice. As a somewhat rural practice we treat a wide range of animal species. We understand our patients are our clients’ family members and believe they deserve personalized loving care. It is our goal to be second only to our clients in providing quality loving care for their pets. As a practice in a somewhat rural area Audubon Animal Hospital is involved in many community activities ranging from support of 4-H projects and activities to rodeo events and animal welfare concerns in our area. We recognize that our more agricultural patients become as much a part of our clients’ lives as our domestic patients and work to provide equally caring and knowledgeable therapy to those animals. Audubon Animal Hospital takes an active role in the care of stray and unwanted pets. Several animals a month are taken in by the Hospital and cared for until they can be placed in loving homes. The love and attention these animals get from the nurturing staff at the Hospital makes them wonderful candidates for adoption. Audubon Animal Hospital combines our basic love of animals with quality Veterinary care. We firmly believe preventive medicine is always better than emergency medicine. Audubon Animal Hospital recommends through annual examinations to detect early signs of abnormalities or disease. We feel early detection greatly improves success of treatment. In addition to a thorough physical examination Audubon Animal Hospital encourages pre-surgical and general diagnostic screening blood chemistries. We perform these chemistries in house so we can have results within the hour. The prompt results allow fast initiation of appropriate medical therapy or identification of increased anesthetic risk factors prior to surgical procedures. Audubon Animal Hospital has Radiology and Digital ultrasound capabilities also. These diagnostic tools are minimally invasive to our patients and can provide invaluable information to assist our Doctor in making a complete and accurate diagnosis of our patient’s problems. With the portability of the digital ultrasound machine and use of a portable x-ray machine equally thorough examination of our equine patients can be performed on site or if need be at our clients’ residence.
