With summer upon us, and homeless animals beginning to pour through our doors, we are introducing a “Day of Giving” – a day to give back to animals in need ❤ Summer is our busiest season and we wouldn’t be able to do our lifesaving work without our incredibly generous community. Every donation goes toward helping animals like Macaroon, a sweet 1-year-old dog who was hit by a car and needed intensive medical care.

Macaroon was found on the side of the road, scared, alone, and in pain. Her luck changed when she was found by a member of the community who brought her to a local vet clinic. She was then transferred to the Wisconsin Humane Society where she was provided with much-needed medical care and, of course, lots of love! Our veterinary team determined that Macaroon would need a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery if she ever hoped to use her leg again. The life-changing procedure was soon underway to relieve the adorable pup of her pain 💖

You can tell by the enormous smile on her face that Macaroon is doing SO much better and greatly enjoying her time in foster care! WHS receives no general government funding and is not part of any national groups like HSUS, the ASPCA, or PETA – Macaroon’s story is made possible solely by our amazing supporters. Between this thread and two on our other pages, your questionable spending habits raised more than $22,000 for the animals at WHS 🤯 You all are truly incredible and surpassed our wildest expectations!! Our artists are working tirelessly to get the masterpieces back to you as soon as possible, though it may take a day or two at this point. ORIGINAL POST: Back by overwhelming demand – it’s Poorly Drawn Pets! 🎉 We had such a blast with this last February and wanted to start this year off with plenty of laughter.

Here’s the deal: If you donate $25 to the animals at WHS, we’ll draw your pet. The catch? We’re a whole lot better at caring for animals than we are at drawing them 🤷

We have a pool of staff and volunteers standing by, eager to turn your animal into a timeless work of art (or at least make you laugh). You *might* get one of our extremely talented artists, but we’ll be honest… you’ll probably get someone who can’t draw their way out of a paper bag. WHS serves 40,000 animals every year and we rely on donations to make that work possible, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while we raise those funds!

Our team will then work their magic and your assigned “artist” will reply with a picture of your homemade masterpiece as soon as possible.
