Dear Clients,

Due to the growing number of online pharmacies and the high volume of prescription requests we receive daily, West End Animal Care Clinic is updating how we handle online pharmacy requests.

There are currently around 100 different online pharmacies that pet medications can be filled through. Our clinic can receive 20–30 online prescription requests in a single day, and often only 2–5 of those requests meet the requirements needed for approval. Reviewing, correcting, and responding to these requests has become very time-consuming for our team.

It has also become increasingly difficult to safely track autoship medications. Many online pharmacies do not notify us when a medication has been filled or shipped, which makes it harder to confirm whether pets are continuing the correct medications, dosages, and refill schedules.

Because of this, moving forward, West End Animal Care Clinic will be working directly with Koala Pharmacy and Chewy Pharmacy only for online prescription approvals.

You may still use any online pharmacy of your choice. However, if you choose to use a pharmacy other than Koala or Chewy, you will need to request a written prescription from our clinic. Please allow 72 business hours for written prescription requests to be completed. Once the written prescription is ready and signed, you will be notified that it is available for pickup. You may then submit or mail the prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.

Thank you for your understanding as we make this change. This updated process will allow our team to better protect patient safety, keep more accurate medical records, and ensure pets are receiving the correct medications at the correct time.
