Sweet Willie Heitmann 4/23/18 - 4/9/25. Only 7 years old. Kenny's youngest and one of the sweetest cats I've ever met. He will certainly be missed.

As I transition to retirement, I am trying to refer cat boarding inquiries to other local boarding facilities. But there aren't any that I'm familiar with who specialize in cat boarding, which is what many of the folks who call me are interested in. So, I'd like to compile a list of people who provide local visiting in-home care for cats. Of course, I'll want to know all about them and their experience so I would appreciate referrals from anyone who has had good experiences with people. Cat sitters you would trust in your home with your cats!

Still boarding for existing clients.

Having just turned 80, I am transitioning to retirement. However, I am continuing to board for previous clients as long as possible, both to help pay the overhead for the "Lifers" and so that you and your kitties do not have to adjust to a new facility any sooner than necessary. Thanks for your understanding and continuing trust and support.

Update on Kenny's Family. When Kenny died in 2022, he had a Pet Trust and had tried to plan carefully for the lifetime care of his beloved cats. Unfortunately, his family and attorney failed to honor his efforts and the cats joined the ranks of abandoned boarders and essentially became my feline family. Mattie, the eldest, died shortly before Kenny, and now we've lost Knucklehead, his 15.5 yr. old diabetic cat. A real sweetheart. That leaves Janie and Willie who have adapted to life quite well in our new community room for the "Lifers". I hope Kenny knows they have a good life here. And I hope if and when I can no longer take care of them, people will adopt the into good lifetime homes. If you are trying to provide for the lifetime care of your pets, I now suggest that you have a specific designated unincumbered fund for that purpose with whomever you want to take care of them as the beneficiary.

Sadly our beautiful big orange lap cat Bailey died 3/20/23 at the age of 12, presumably after a stoke. Intitially a boarder, but later abandoned, he lived with his very dependent buddy Xander in the Cattery for over 5 years. Very much a part of our family, he will be missed, particularly by Xander until they meet again at the Rainbow bridge.

PET TENDER’S CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

The Agreement:

I (we) understand that any cat available for adoption through Pet Tender's has already been through a lot in life. Our “Adoptables” are Abandoned Boarders: adults who have had loving homes, been fully vetted, and abandoned in a boarding facility, where they have lived for an extended period of time. Each already has a life story, and known distinct personality.
Adoptions are to be LIFETIME commitments to EXCELLENT homes and care. Cats are to be kept indoors, not declawed, and given annual veterinary exams with rabies, fvrcp, and feline leukemia vaccinations maintained.
We charge a $100 adoption fee (or $150/bonded pair). If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the pet is to be returned to the Pet Tender's Boarding Cattery and fee will be refunded. Adoptive families will send Pet Tender's regular progress reports on the pet's adjustment, and any problems which may arise. We will give this cat a good home.
