🎆 4th of July is Almost Here — Is Your Dog Ready? 🐾

Fireworks might be fun for us, but they can be terrifying for our dogs. Here’s how you can help keep your pup safe and calm this Independence Day:

✅ Exercise early in the day – A tired dog is a calmer dog! Go for a walk or play a long game of fetch before the evening begins.
✅ Mentally stimulate your dog with brain games, sniffle mats, lick mats, or a filled kong around the time it gets dark to help distract from the more intense activity of fireworks.
✅ Keep them indoors – Even if your dog is usually okay outside, fireworks can cause sudden panic and running off.
✅ Create a safe space – Use a crate or quiet room with soft bedding, white noise, or calming music to drown out the noise.
✅ ID & microchip check – Make sure your dog’s ID tag is secure and your contact info is up to date.
✅ Consider calming aids – Talk to your vet about natural remedies, anxiety wraps (like a Thundershirt), or short-term meds if needed.
✅ Stay calm yourself – Your energy affects your dog. Act normal and relaxed to help them feel safe.

🐶✨ Bonus Tip: Practice some “firework sounds” in advance at a low volume during calm moments, rewarding your dog for staying relaxed.
