Pretty cold in MN right now, and I thought this article had some good suggestions for winter activities for you and your dogs. Being a Certified Trick Dog Instructor, I like the tricks suggestion! :-) My dogs will be learning some new tricks - good physical exercise, good mental exercise, and great for strengthening the human-canine bond.

Sunny (Blk Lab) and Carly (Cattle Dog mix) got their wish lists into Santa a week or so ago at Paws Inn Resort and Training. Their lists weren't that long, but they were detailed - manufacturer, color, size, etc. :-) All the best for the Holidays!

Carly had a very good herding session today. She seemed to realize the sheep are "mine," and I was able to walk around the pen with the sheep and Carly kept them with me! Impressive display of self control for her!

Fourth week of Intro to Agility (Tween) at Paws Inn Resort and Training. The pics below are Bjorn (Golden) in his "start line stay" getting ready to do the tunnel, he really likes the tunnel. And the other pic is Gigi (Flat Coat Collie) on the A-frame, first time, went right over without hesitation!

Nothing like working with some sheep to brighten up Carly's day. We worked on bringing three sheep out of the corner and then putting them back in the corner. She did it, but only one at a time. The second picture below is an example of braking off one, she did put it back, but after it went between my legs (no kidding!!).

Week 6, last night, of intro to agility (Tween) at Paws Inn Resort and Training. It was a fun night, where we reviewed all the obsticles we'd covered in the previous 5 weeks and added a few new twists. Below is Harlow, Great Dane, trying to get her large self on the table after going over the A Frame. Then Static, Golden, doing some running jumps (no bars on the jumps, the dogs in class were too young to be jumping a lot).
