Adoptable pet highlight!

Grizzly is a 2-year-old terrier mix. Don't let photos fool you; this guy is much smaller in real life and is only about 30-35lbs.
Grizzly previously lived with other dogs and small children and does great. He is extremely high energy and would be a great fit for an active family or someone who wanted to pursue dog sports, like "ratting". He is very high drive and would do best in a home where he was given a job or an active lifestyle.

Prince is a 2.5 year old Bull Mastiff Mix. At roughly 90lbs and a giant "meatball head" he is looking for his next couch to crash on. He is a toy enthusiast, and has bursts of energy but is overall a chill guy. He does not mind other dogs and mostly ignores them, a chill dog or one respectful of personal boundaries would be a great fit for him.
No cats!
He does great with kids but does not understand his size so bigger kids would be ideal.

Prince is heartworm positive and needs a foster committed to roughly 4 months of treats and located in the Saint Charles or Saint Louis County area. Ideal foster would be able to take him to his monthly vet appointments.

Approved foster gets first dibs on adoption after he is medically clear!

Wow what a busy week! This week alone we had
2 Dogs got adopted (1 foster to adopt)
4 dogs went to rescue
3 cats went to rescue
and 2 feral cats were trapped, altered, released!
Lets keep the momentum going! We currently have 3 adoptable dogs at our shelter and one in foster! Click on each photo for more information and we fill out an application at this link in the first comment and someone will contact you ASAP to schedule a meet and greet.

Tamale aka "Potato" is a 2 year old "Micro Bully" who has been patiently waiting for her home.
She LOVES kids and does fine with other dogs, we do require meet and greets with any current furry house residents, and is full of love.
She is full of energy and would love to spend her days playing outside with her human family then relaxing on a couch binging your favorite TV show.

Onyx is a three-year-old Doberman that came to us from a neglect case. He is extremely emaciated and heartworm-positive. I have luckily secured backing for his heartworm treatment but need to get him out of the shelter and into a more stable and quiet environment to start treatment.
Onyx is your stereotypical Doberman and is HIGH ENERGY and LOVES TO BARK AND HOWL. He is extremely intelligent and can open gates and most latches on cages, so a foster would need to be extra cautious and aware when containing him.
He bonds with people quickly and can be defensive of them when strangers come around.
He is NOT cat friendly. He has had plenty of positive interactions with other dogs, but due to medical reasons, a foster home with no or limited other dog interactions would be ideal.
He will need lots of quiet and rest time and will need to be crated for those periods.
He has had positive interactions with children, but due to his size, energy, and medical needs, a home with no small children and very limited interactions with young children will be ideal.

He is INCREDIBLY SWEET, and I would personally medically foster, but my home is too loud and wild and would not be ideal for his recovery. I want to set him up for success, so I will ask a lot of questions, and proper waivers and background checks will have to be passed, as we do for any "adoption" or foster.
Foster must be local to the Saint Louis/Saint Charles County general area.
He is current on all vetting, and food and a crate will be provided.
Please note that we are an extremely small shelter and limited in resources, so we typically do not do long-term fosters. We ask that the fosters be committed for at least a 4-5 month period, as we have limited space to take returns, and it's also extremely stressful on a medical dog to be bounced around. Multiple meet-and-greets may be required prior to pickup.
An approved medical foster would have first dibs on adoption after he is medically cleared.
