🚨 Raisin Toxicity in Dogs – A Real Case with a Happy Ending 🐾
Meet Elenor 💛 — this sweet girl came to us after eating an entire pound of raisins. While raisins may seem harmless to us, they can be extremely toxic to dogs, even in small amounts.
Raisin (and grape) toxicity can cause acute kidney failure, and unfortunately, there is no known safe dose. Some dogs can become critically ill after a single raisin or grape.
Thanks to her owner acting quickly and prompt veterinary care, Elenor received immediate treatment, including decontamination and supportive care. As you can see, she had quite a bit to bring up—but that early intervention made all the difference.
✨ We’re happy to report that Elenor is making a full recovery!
🔍 Key Takeaways for Pet Owners:
• Grapes and raisins = always a no for dogs
• Toxicity is unpredictable — any amount can be dangerous
• Early treatment is critical — don’t wait for symptoms
• Call your vet or an emergency clinic immediately if ingestion occurs
Please keep these foods out of reach and share this as a reminder—awareness can save lives. 💙
